Good morning folks- I am up- not quite at 'em- but have to drive the MIL to work, and may as well get groceries while I am in town. cause I have nothing else to do....

If it wasnt for bad luck I would have no luck at all!! I won a nice expensive bow- SO, I decided to give my bow to a child in our 4H, we had a contest to see who would win it, and all that. Then come to find out, the bow I won, it wont fit me, and I will have to spend a few hundred dollars to retrofit it to me.

Oh well- the good thing is, a friend of mine owns a bow store- and they are going to get me a bow for cost. - NOW, I just have to sell the bow I won and pay for the one I am buying. but at least it will have pink on it ;-)

Hi PIF!

Having a little work done to the outside of the house today and tomorrow. Some siding and one window needs serious attention. This poor house has had at least 3 owners and no one but us has had any work done to it. It's taken a while, but we're slowly getting stuff updated. Wish it wasn't so expensive.

whoo-hoo!! it gets better- My bow doesnt fit me (fine, its just a hobby anyway- I can do without it) But the AC is broken and needs a new compressor, and you can see the air in my tires- ALL 6 of them....

Plus, my kids are thinking they dont have to do anything today....

BMontgomery - lol. DH and I have laughed about that for years. We saved and scrimped and ate pb&j and mac n cheese to save up $ for our down payment on our 1st house...and then you realize how much time and money they take! Mowing, painting, plumbing, roofs, decks, driveways.

We started looking at replacing the carpet. It's 9 yrs old and survived sippy cups etc. He wants hardwood floors, I hate the way they show dust and cat hair ;-) and we both hate the expense. Then we dropped 1k on car repairs last week (all 3 cars needed something or other) - not whininy mind you. I'm grateful we had it in savings. But stuff like that is why I don't want to replace the carpet right now.

And we need to replace or fix a couple of windows - including the sliders. The seals are blown. It's bad in our bathroom and the slider. Ticks me off that they were so cheaply made that they couldn't even last 10 years!

Yeah Dark, that's the issue, everything they put this house together with was cheap/crap. We've done quite a bit to the inside, but the outside is now looking so bad that we really have no choice but to get some things done NOW. It needs so much...but we can only do a little bit at a time. It's frustrating, to say the least. And we've yet to get someone to work on this house that actually has pride in their craft. Well, with the exception of the folks that put in the upstairs flooring...they did an outstanding job. With that one exception, the home improvement experience for us has been truly horrible.
