To be honest, I didn't hold much hope for NC. It's horrible to know that you are surrounded by people who spent so much time and money to deny your basic rights.

Two libraries ago, I faced off with a co-worker, who loved me as a person but openly said that she'd deny me basic rights. All her teenaged children disagreed with her. After a while, I told her that I was honestly waiting for people like her to die out. No matter how much she tried to change her kids minds, they firmly supported gay rights.
I have to believe as a species, we are advancing towards being more fair. Think of all the groups that didn't have agency, that do now.

In 1989, I thought it would have happened by now but it's gonna get here. I know that it doesn't look like it, but this is the last big hurrah that these :censored: have before they become the minority, die out or we get a better supreme court:)

This is my hope for the human race.
"It will be a species very like us, but with more of our strengths, and fewer of our weaknesses. More confident, farseeing, capable, and prudent. For all our failings, despite our limitations and fallibilities, we humans are capable of greatness.”

in Oklahoma they would probably stone you in public. Then later you'd wake up in the hospital with the deacons wife's phone number in you personal effects asking for a discrete date when her hubby is at the BNC.

/me hides now.

I'm sure the sarcasm will be lost and I'll get flamed for that joke. In this state you can't even legally sell a "cylindrical object that may or may not be battery powered that is used for sexual gratification" People drive across the border to go to that kind of shop LOL.

If anyone's got any overseas (including to deployed military) shipping coming up, no more outgoing USPS international packages with lithium batteries through year end, effective next week:
"Effective May 16 2012 until January 2013, the Postal Service will not be able to accept packages containing lithium batteries and electronic devices containing lithium batteries addressed to international destinations. This includes mail destined to, or from, APO (Army Post Office), FPO (Fleet Post Office) and DPO (Diplomatic Post Office) locations.

This change is required by the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Universal Postal Union (UPU), both of which currently prohibit lithium batteries in mail shipments that are carried on international commercial air transportation.

This change will not apply to packages containing lithium batteries and electronic devices containing lithium batteries when mailed within the United States on domestic commercial air or ground transportation."

That does suck- :(

last night we had a homestyle bakes thing- I never buy them, they are always boxy and not the type of food we eat.

but we had the cheesey hasbrowns with ham, I added more of my own ham, because there wasnt enough ham in there to do anything more than piss off someone in my house, but it was pretty darn good- I was impressed.

I got my shot. :glare: He told me to "do what I had to do, but don't get crazy", so I'm trying to be good. :glare:

Livi is in her bathing suit, spinning around in circles. She has declared herself "Wonder Woman" and I am "Wonder Mommy".  If I call her Livi, she is sure and quick to correct me. I love this kid.
