So a quick boot back into vaping was helped along by the folks at Ovale USA who helped me out w/ a deal on an Ego-C Twist vV. I'm surprised I like it at all. So between that and a used ProVape-1 I'm "stable" and probably going to keep it right about that way. A lot of other priorities before tanking or custom mods..

The rest of life is starting to reboot more and more - too slow, really challenging, and at totally unforgiving times - but it's what it is. And I get to spend time w/ my daughter again so all that needs to be right - is.

There is no shortage of things in life that can be remedied with the love and perspective of a 4yo. :D

I'm sure you have power back by now, but I wanted to show this to everyone. I didn't even know what a coffee maker was growing up because my dad used one of these. Handy item for when the power goes out.

How do you heat the water?

I got to drive today for the first time in ~ten months. And Nature rewarded me w/ laughter.. I was going over the main bridge and found out that pelicans can be distracted flyers. This big pelican was gliding along the rails looking to make a dive at a fish and *THWAP* FACEPLANT into a fencing/box setup off the side of the bridge.

I almost peed myself but since I'm a manly man we don't do that so I just snorted out coffee. -Magnus

Beautiful Baldwinsville (CNY)
Busy weekend. Wifie's relatives from NYC were up, multiple rounds of trekking to her brother's place on Skaneateles Lake, yesterday was the first day of Bouckville Antique Festival (my job is to smile and haul the 100 pound concrete garden sculpture she bought), dinner at our place (barbecue :) )

A load of reading and scuba classes, through early September, to get certified as an Assistant Instructor (too lazy to become a full Instructor, I do this for fun). Wifie's also planted the bug on getting a lakefront camp (small house), so we're looking at listings, checking out some places. i still have a long ways to go on my planned summer house updates (refinishing the log cabin exterior, window replacement).

No rest for the wicked!

They do make a great cup of coffee. Most people use automatic drip coffee makers which (due to lawsuits from idiots getting burned in the late 70's when they came out) only heat the water to 160 degrees. Coffee needs to be brewed at 200 degrees to release the oils in the beans. That's why commercial coffee always tastes better than what you make at home even if you buy their beans. Unless of course you use a french press, Vacuum brewer, or break down and spend $300.00 on a Technivorm. Yes I have all of these

Vacuum/Siphon brewer. Cheaper, perfect 200 degree brew, doesn't require electricity, makes even that watered-down tea made with coffee beans that most Americans call "coffee" taste good.

Just sayin'.

If you have the patience and get past the learning curve a vacuum brewer makes some great coffee :)
They're actually becoming trendy now. I was surprised to see how the price jumped lately on them. Bodum actually makes an electric one - I got one a few years ago and didn't like it - took forever to brew as opposed to my stove top version. I sold it on eBay last year for twice what I had bought it for.
You can still pick up a decent stove top one for around $40 though.

Ahhh...didn't realize there was supposed to be a learning curve. It does have a nice bright and clean flavour, but personally I prefer Turkish.

That does have a learning curve, though...
