hi guys I been doing a lot of builds trying to find one I like and just trying other advanced ones ( keeps me busy lol) and enjoy it . But I normally use the cotton that are pads . Square : I get them from local vape shop sometimes free or sometimes 5$ for like 5 .. I get them free when I buy a lot of kanthal . But just orderd a lot offline so I don't wanna have to pay5$ just for 5 sheets cuz I go through a lot of cotton at times . Where can I get those pads cheap for a lot ? Another vape shop uses that long cotton that is like in big strips and falls apart I don't like that cotton at all it's annoying but they said I can get like 100feet of it from Sally's for 20$ wat should I do . Is the long cotton the same as the pads

howdy - and welcome

the 'long cotton' that comes from Sally's is actually rayon (called cellucotton - 100% rayon fiber)... you can actually get the pads from Sephora - called Koh Gen Do - about $14 for a pack of 60 pads (or online from Sephora, or through amazon also)

personally, I like Cotton Bacon for my drippers, though I am in the process of testing rayon also, heard a lot of good feedback about it... but I use Koh Gen Do pads for all my rebuildable tanks

hope this helps!

personally, I like Cotton Bacon for my drippers,

Did you have any difficulty working with it? It was the first wicking material I purchased, back when I was trying to rebuild the coils for my Nautilus. I found it difficult to pull off pieces and make them a consistent thickness, which in turn made it difficult to wrap a consistent wick around the coil.

Finally, I broke down and bought an RTA. Probably a little more expensive than buying cotton in sheets, but it's worked out OK.

I've still got the cotton bacon, any suggestions for working with it, or is it just me?

i think it would be a pain in the tuckus to wrap coils for exactly the reason you mentioned... for my drippers, though, I love it - will pull a strip, then roll it with one hand, lightly, on the top of my leg to create a cotton dreadlock, if you will - then (most of my drippers are dual coil setups), cut the 'lock in half, twist up an end and wick... but for my rta's (kanger, et al), i use the pad cotton pretty exclusively - and for a vertical coil rebuild (kanger, atlantis, freemax) I use the cotton pad also (koh gen do)

PIT, yep, couldn't have said it better myself. I appreciate your suggestion for the cotton bacon, and I'll give it whirl next time I wick one of my RTAs. I have the cotton pads now, but still never managed a satisfactory rebuild for my Nautilus. Since I'm stubbornly refusing to buy any more coils, it may be time to PIF. [sigh]

I Wonder if that's the same rayon they use in packaging in pill bottles. If so Im set! Lol I'm a machine operator and see several 30lb boxes of that almost daily
Theoretically yes!! Lol but a lot of companies these days seem to mix up their packaging randomly between rayon/polyester/blends thereof. A buddy of mine found that out the hard way after using rayon from pill bottles awhile til one day same brand same product all that...but he re-wicked and it was god-awful, stunk up the whole room, I finally found a lighter and hit the stuff with it and lo & behold, they'd used polyester in that bottle...shrivelled up like a blackened piece of nasty... Needless to say he buys his rayon now... Still to this day I wish I had a pic of the look on his face after that hit tho lmao I'm evil some days as @Sparkler24 can attest ;)

Any wicking material is going to have some sort of learning curve, but I've gotta say one of the easiest for me were the cotton pads. I bought a box of KGD from Amazon, and I've tried a few more brands (sent along with some of the rebuildables I've bought) and they all perform and taste pretty much identical.

I try to buy from Amazon when I can, but I've also used a few other vendors (like a fiber supply company for my rayon and tencel top).
