I put a bunch of cartos in a pot of boiling water... boiled them good for about 15 minutes.... then I rinsed them. I can still smell the old juice in some of them  What to do now?

Oh, and just an fyi... don't boil the little white end caps (I removed them first). They will warp badly... I had to toss about 15 of them. :(
If you need some caps I have many of them. I don't use them so if you want them PM me and I'll send them to you.

I just did this for the first time this weekend.. and yep, didn't take of the plastic pieces. I got a bowl of warped out ones now.. Heh. that's alright.
At first I thought I had ruined a handful of cartos, but then I realized I hadn't blown the excess water out.. I just let them sit overnight, and had figured they'd have dried out on their own. I blew them out last night and let them sit overnight again... and filled them up today, good as new.

... While PG is antimicrobial the other ingredients are not. Its food grade flavoring and everytime it comes in contact with oxygen there is the possibility that little buggers can attach. ...

You make the big mistake of still wanting to analyse the properties of each ingredient separately even though they are now mixed together. (solution)

A solution that is only 30% PG/70% soy broth is still active enough to kill Candida albicans, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus pyogenes A, E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Streptococcus mitis within 20 hours. (in vitro) (Acta dermato-venereologica 1991;71(2):148-50.)

While I like to wash cartos for ease of draw purposes, I don't think it's required for cleanliness purposes...
