Has anyone ever tried to clean by soaking in white vinegar and than rinsing? Vinegar does such a good job on coffee pots I would think it would work for smoke juice.

The reason vinegar works on coffee pots is what you are really removing from the coffee pot is not dirt or burned on deposits but limestone. That's why they call it descaling. since limestone buildup is not the problem I suspect all that will happen is you'll make the thing taste like month old ....

The best way I have done is boiled cartos and then blew them out with the turkey baster and for Atty's I use to do a hot water rinse, Soak in the creast health Pro mouth wash then a final rinse with PGA, blow dry and a little PG for a primer, but anymore with Atty's only running $3 for an LR510 and cartos as cheap as they are I just chuck them once there performance starts to lack.

where are people finding these 3$ attys? I'm seeing cartos go for that some places.

yummy a pickled cartomizer.

My preference on atty cleaning is the simple and cheap Vodka soak. For the cartomizers I went with boiling or hot water or i would just use my e2 cartomizers and dedicate a flavor to a cart :)

Ive been quite interested in e2 cartos. How long do they last?

I clean mine with alcohol. I just pour some in it and shake it around. Just cover up the holes. and it gets mine clean.

that sometimes actually makes mine worse. I'm planning on trying that protocol in the 5+ month post where one soaks them overnight in polident smoker's denture cleaner, wash them out, and dry burn them.

I never had a problem with it. In fact i have good luck with it. I use rubbing alcohol. Just let it dry up then vape.

Makes sense that vinegar would work. Some chemicals are soluble in water, some in alcohol, some in acids. So the best cleaning solvent should be a mix of all 3 - in other words; vodka (which is more than 1/2 water) and grocery store white vinegar (also more than 1/2 water). Heating the solvent mix should improve its cleaning efficiency, so long as you don't go hot enough to melt anything. So a soak in warm vodka/vinegar mix for about an hour, followed by a really good rinse-down to remove the acid residuals before they can eat up the electrical solder connections, should do the trick. I'll experiment on this, since I have several attys that need a good clean-out. Will report when I know more.

I use cartomizers. I am not understanding how the entire cart can be placed in water over night then dried out and still work. Nothing happens to the mechanism inside?

I am really in need of cleaning mine. I have filled them with many, many, many flavors through my experimenting (I'm a noob). Many of them I do NOT like AT ALL. I need to clean them and start fresh with some new juices I just received. Ughhhh HELP!!! I am getting frustrated!!! :glare:

Guess you don't wash your keyboards in the dishwasher? There's only wire in the heaters and they are designed to run in a liquid.

I've a whole bunch of atty's and cartomizers here. As they get clogged, nasty or flooded I throw them in plastic container of rum to soak. I used to just blow these out, but got where that wasn't enough. I followed somebody's method on here, removed soft parts, and boiled the bunch for five minutes in water. After cooling blow out as much water as you can. I have compressed air here. Next I dried them all in a pie pan in the toaster oven at 100+ degrees for an hour. They came through like new! HTH
