Okay, okay, Deez......I was one of the ones you called out on this thread. I was once a lurker too, for months, reading, learning back last fall. I even pm'd PawPaw for questions because I was afraid of jumping on the boards and aggravating someone with my stupid questions. I was assured by many that is what these boards were here for, to learn, to get to know, etc.
Tables have rotated, many new members here, and yes, like Jam, I miss many of the old ones. I just wanted you to know I never intended to slow anyone down. My message was more aimed for the crew at V4L to let them know just how great I thought their new flavor is, and then for those reading who might wonder how others felt. Trust me - I won't make that mistake again. I understand what you are saying, but I tend to agree with aubergine that it is ever changing and the topics flow with it. I will send my pats on the back to V4L through emails and that way I won't waste anyone's time having to read it. My apologies for posting.

fwm ~ That is exactly what folks like me don't want. Yes, this forum is an information source, and a wonderful one at that. Still, it is also a community and it was the community aspect that drew me and many others like me to join this forum and post actively instead of merely lurking. I enjoy interacting with others online, often more so than I do in the real world. There is a great deal to be learned here, not only from the technical discussions, but about other folks and the world we share. I hope you continue to post about what you like and what you hate, the people that deserve your gratitude and the people who have caused you grief. That is why I am here. I want and need that personal aspect of these forums and I'm not going to stop posting just because others think I'm slowing things down or that what I have to say isn't pertinent. It's not for them to decide.

I couldn't have said it better. It's kind of crazy, the amount of time I spend lurking and reading and responding on these boards. I love it just the way it is...even when fragmented and confusing. PLEASE everyone, keep posting. I have learned so much! And I think it is GREAT to read about the flavors that are liked and disliked. I LUV you guys (and gals)!

I never meant pointing you out to be personal but just as an example. I don't think I even looked at the poster's name. I also think ppl are misconstruing my intentions. I never suggested for ppl to stop posting. Anyway, I really do apologize if you were offended.

The truth is, the bulk or primary issue I take is when there are duplicate threads that are just within a couple pages (even on the first page). It is really not that hard to look at the first page or two to see if an applicable thread has already been started especially when it regards to a current subject like the New batteries or Wow flavor. And especially when the poster has a question and the answer is right there - just have to look. I don't know how to put it nicely but to me that is just being lazy or even maybe inconsiderate. But I also know that it is not intended that way.

I'm over the ambiguous topic headings, I just ignore them now. You know what, I'm over it altogether. I'm pretty new here so I'm done trying to change the way things work around here. Even tho i know there are several that do, most ppl seem not to mind it or even like it. I was just hoping to make it more efficient. I never meant to start a whole discussion on this issue either.

And again, I never meant to offend anyone or be a pain in the .... either. Cheers :).

All points posted in this thread were good relevant observations, but give deez a break; he's just trying to get people to use a little common sense and etiquette - it's quite clear he is not trying to piss anyone off or hurt their feelings. Everyone has a right to post their respectful opinion, including deez. I for one, really enjoy being part of the V4L family and absorbing / contributing to this forum. The problem is, it takes a lot longer to participate and interact than it used to, simply because of information overload. The original post was simply a suggestion to use clear thread title descriptions - not to criticize the necessity or content of the post - and I agree that it would help immensely. I try to avoid starting threads; on any given issue, I can usually find a similar or closely related thread within the first few V4L subforum pages to update or bump. Now, I have to go 6, 7, 8, 9, .... pages deep just to find a thread I was recently following. Net effect, it becomes frustrating, and discourages people like me from participating, and eventually, we just fade out like so many others before me. I guess that's natural, and I have choices just as you all do. Keep in mind however that people who are here to have more in-depth discussions regarding PV's have just as much right to express their opinions as the people who start multiple duplicate mindless threads for every single question they have, when all they had to do was go to the stickies or V4L wiki page. I have a thick skin, and can stay or go at any time and no one would notice or care the least bit; I just hope it doesn't get much worse, because I really really like it here. :)
