so i can use a 901 atty with my 808 without an adpater?

It used to be a universal yes. And 901 attys are amazing for flavor. With the introduction of "sealed" autos, it threw a curve ball. With autos, they need that airflow up the center post to work. Since the "sealed" posts are flat they seal off that airflow. And the batteries don't even activate. You either need the center post of the atty/carto to have a horizontal slot- which 808 hardware does but 901s do not- or you need the "sealed" battery post to have a slot. According to Cyrus, the v4l "sealed" titans have the slot so they work.

If you have a manual 808 or an unsealed auto with a hole in the middle of the center post, 901s will work.

I cut my vaping teeth on the 901 and for an entire year vaped 901s on 808 batteries with the occasional 808 cartomizer (but that was before 808s came out with horizontal coil which was a great improvement for flavor and performance.) I haven't found anything to compare to the flavor in the price range of a 3-10 dollar atty/carto/clearo although some of the ce2 type clearos come close.

Thanks to lulu for posting this in the Echo thread

I-Turbo II (rebuildable 808 thread)

Looks like a Vision eGo clearo 2.0, for the echo. Ordered one to play with because I miss my autos. Wonder if the Vivi heads are compatible with it.

Also ordered a Kanger T2 on charlz's recommendation, and an E1 because Lord Davon raves about them. If they're good, I'm gonna say "why the hell isn't there an 808!!!"

Awh...your making me jealous, Cyrus. I still have 4 unopened of the 'tools to take apart' version along with the 4 I have in rotation.

I'm trying not to buy until I've used them, but heck, I haen't yet destroyed the 4 currently in use. ...not that I haven't tried.

The Kanger T2 in 808 could be justifyable as they are fundamentally a different product. ; )

Maybe I'll spring for a Smoktech Genesys-style Atty.

The market is moving quickly these days...

It would be interesting to know if the heads are interchangeable.
I see heads with 1; 2 & 4 wicks, so you could have your choice.
Discount Vapers states that the 2 & 4 wick heads work on:

Vivi Nova (not the mini)
Thor Clearomizer
CE4 Rebuildable Clearomizer (CE5)
Vision 2.0 Rebuildable Clearomizer

I was thinking that since all these devices share the same head, that the main difference would be air flow that could effect the vape.
I've been looking for another device for the wife, but I've been unable to decide. I just need to pull the trigger and get one of each to decide which style we would like.
I have a Phoenix Rebuildable Atomizer coming today so I will have a new toy to play with :)

I hear ya cool

I gave up on the stardust and Iturbo because I couldn't get over the muted flavor they seem to insist on giving me. When Charlz was impressed with the T2 flavor wise, well, I was impressed, because I know he's more picky about flavor than I am by far. I should have the Iturbo II, T2 and E1 today, I'm crossing my fingers! Going to California for a month and I don't want to take a pile of RBAs, SS mesh and Kanthal with me. Well, I DO want to, but I'm thinking anything more than one RBA and some back up wicks and coil and the TSA is gonna slap me with a major WTF lol.

Also have an eGo twist coming today. I'm hoping I love it. It would be a weight of my mind to leave the provari at home and just roll with the Twist, Echo and a few sticks while abroad.

I was in love with the ESCO E1, but the latest revision of the Kanger T2 has me in awe. Their bottom coil T0 is a good second.
LD posted this in the clearo section, so let us know how they perform CV.
I think I'll throw some T2's in the cart and check them out also.

I noticed on the T2 that the newer heads have longer wicks and no "catch cup" like the short wick heads.
I dropped a order for 4 & 8 xtra heads with the 'catch cup'. I figure I can transfer the cup to the longer wick heads later if they do help. If they make things worse, then they will just go into the xtra draw for something down the road.

where is that post skelley? particular thread?

I think the catch cup either doesn't help flavor wise, or may even hurt a little. I think charlz implied he liked the version without a bit better. I've been trying to get in touch with him to make sure he's OK, if anyone gets a line on him please let us know.

so far the T2 is really impressive. Flavor and wicking so far is the best I've had in these "stardust" types. No silly leaks or gurgles either.

The E1 isn't wicking so hot, not sure why. Granted I'm pushing it on both of them in terms of juice, thick VG in both, same wattage though. Maybe long wicks just suck! The T2 is short wicked.

Stay tuned :)

do any other companies sell the phoenix/ce3 XL bottom coil with 808 threads other than gotvapes? I've tried about 3 different types of clearomisers, and these are by far my favorite. I need some more, and can't seem to find them anywhere. Originally I ordered them from gotvapes, but they have been out of stock for weeks, and apparently they're not in any hurry to restock them (i've noticed this with several of their products). I wish I could find a reliable company that keeps up with their inventory.

Otherwise if it really comes down to it I was thinking about trying the 510 phoenix's wiht a 808/510 adapter. Does anyone know if they will perform the same as the native 808 phoenix?

Smokeless Image just restocked. I use to have links to a few others that were cheaper, but I started using 510's as they were more readily available. Hopefully others will have links to other sites also.
Yeah, I don't bother going to GV site anymore, like you, I GotTired of seeing a website without products.

Using a adapter shouldn't be a problem especially with a manual batt. Autos may be another story as these CE3's are very airy. I even use a sealed adapter as my LT is very airy also and between the two I wasn't getting enough lung resistance.

I've been using these for a week straight now just to see how they measure up to the vaping fun I've had with the Go-go tanks.

elite2_0.jpg

ELITE 808 CLEAR AND EASY TANKS 2.0

I've tried all the 808 "tanks" and they all had something that kept me from using them all the time. Flavor drop offs and leaking eventually made me go back to cartos. Which wasn't a bad thing. The Elite Carto is a wonderful vape.

But Things Have Changed!

The TH is spot on, Flavor is phenomenal, and vapor is ... well ... vapor. Lots of it. Tanks, Clearomizers, whatever you want to call them, have finally delivered. I can't go back to cartomizers after this. No leaking, no "dry" hits, no negatives to report. And they look pretty dang cool on the Elite. All you Bloog and V4L guys have got to try these.
