Hey there Cyrus and Skelley, I'm currently using the Supremes.

I decided to do a dry burn on the first fluxo that tasted like plastic, and the wick actually turned white in the center, with a couple of brown spots on the sides of the coil. I will be retesting it, as I believe the easy fill tip was responsible for the foul smell and taste.

I will dry burn the second fluxo again since it stayed black. I think I may not have dry burned it enough the first time, fearing the coils would pulverize, since they would turn gray after a few seconds. Now I realize the gray ash is the gunk, so this time I will try it without being so hesitant.

So far I can say I'm starting to get how these things work, and liking them more everyday :) I'll keep you guys posted.

Great news voltron!

you couldn't burn those wicks if you tried. I've taken a butane torch to many silica wicks, and they don't burn at all. Just do it in pulses so you don't pop the coil. The coil will pop before you get even close to burning those wicks. They burn at some absurd temperature I can't even recall. And none of us have the tools to reach.

There is probably more beta test info in this thread then was done in all of China.
The good thing is we have this forum to share our experiences and help each other get the most out of our devices.
I have stopped counting the amount of money that I've spent this year and I really don't want to know...lol.

Without a doubt, I like my clearomizers. Carto's are like having a car without a gas gauge. They are fine for me in tanks, but that's about as far as they go and forget dripping, it's a pain to do all day.

Cyrus, how is the flavor on your CE3's, can you notice a difference vs. the CE2's?

That's good to hear about betterlife, I didn't know.
I found a unopened MiT CE3 so now I have something to compare to the GotVapes Phoenix (CE3).
I just opened a phoenix and dismantled for inspection; clean & dry burn. It took forever to dry burn the shipping fluid off whereas the MiT CE3 only took a few seconds.
I mic'd the diameters of the devices and they are the same, but the lengths of the steps are all different. This leads me to believe that they might not be MiT's. I also asked Bad awhile back in their forums, but he skipped my post w/o a answer.
My point: The MiT CE3's performed great out of the box and these phoenix's are giving me issues.
If the off brands performed the same I probably wouldn't care, but if I have to pay the same price, I prefer a device that can perform.

Skelley I actually prefer the fluxo flavor, but not by much :)

So the best mod I've found is to both cut AND thin the wicks. I just tried to cut/shorten only, and it doesn't work so well.

Lord Davon has a great review of these, and he seems to get them working perfect with just shortening. But I'm not getting those results.

Just thin 'em out skelley and all will be well :)

One downfall of anything that wicks through holes is high vg liquid. Cyrus, I know you're on 40-50%vg. High vg is alot of the reason why some folks slotted their tank cartos instead of just holes punched in. It's just finicky technology that can't possibly be suited to everyone's style. I would bet that those having moderate success with these stay within the standard 20% range. The higher you go, the more modding is required.

I'm an unhungry fish right now so I don't feel like taking the bait just to see if I'm right. It's kind of funny standing off to the side for once.

Wow, you guys are really scaring me off the CE3's  If Cyrus and Charlz hate them, I probably will as well since I'm loving the fluxos right now. I consider them superior to the Volt CE4's, which I originally loved, because of the ability to clean them multiple times and the great draw they produce.

I've heard people complain about the CE4' constricted draw. Any of you know how I can mod them to open it up? I haven't been using them lately because I've gotten used to the fluxos. I actually dry burned and reused the first fluxo I deemed a dud, and it's working fine now :) So the easy fill plug must have been what was causing the nasty taste at first.

Voltron I'm very happy for you, great news :) Like I've said stardusts are great but they're second place at best

I don't hate CE3s, I just hate the idea that they work out of the box. They don't unless you happen to vape some combination of lower voltage + higher PG + really spaced out, fast short hits + the right amount of wick. The one's I've modded OTOH are now second place to my fluxos, the stardust has been knocked down to third place simply because of muted flavor

Well maybe the genuine MiTs do ;)

You can try modding the metal nipple on the ce4. I squeezed it at the base with a pair of needlenose and it caved in. A 90 degree turn and another squeeze and it was off. Invert it and it's magically now a top hat like the original ce4s. The flavor has improved but it's still a weird draw. I think it's because it wasn't a clean break and the microscopic ridges catch the air.
I'm posting because I'd like someone to try and see if you have good results as well. It's such a small piece, I'm having trouble sanding it down.

These definitely have a taste at first. I gave one an alcohol bath and it helped but it's more than oils left over from manufacturing. Maybe it's the nichrome they are using, maybe the pre-burned cup nonsense. It's funny though that they made changes, bragged about how great they were and they only made it worse.

They are solid units though. Better soldering, sturdier inner seal. The last ones I bought wouldn't have lived long enough to season them. I think these can actually be used for a month or more.

I contacted Rick from Vapor Alley and he said (If I understand him correctly) the CE3's he has now (plain white box) came from Katady.
He also stated that he has more CE3's on the way that have "CE3" on the box, but he didn't say if they were MiT's or not.
Anyway, you gotta like a website that has good communication as I don't purchase from those that don't reply.

I generally vape these CE3's around 4.2-4.5 volts. Life is good when the base is so hot that you can't touch it :laugh:
However, some juces like lemonade must be vaped with lower voltage or they taste burnt, while others like most tobaccos flavors are better around 5.0-5.5 volts. The MiT CE3's were around 2.8 ohms.

For the last few days at work, I've used my KGO which is 3.7volts and anything over 2 ohms just doesn't have much flavor for me. I'm not walking around work with my lavatube in my pocket.

Cyrus, I've raised the center post on the CE3's from GotVapes as they are not performing if I don't. The downside is they like to leak a little.
Now I just need to find someone that sells MiT CE3's
