Clogged carto woes

Hey all,

I've been having an issue of fresh cartos being good for about 15 or so hits then becoming clogged. I'm using rawr poison ejuice 30% PG and 70% VG. I use the condom fill method on the new cartos, drop it into my tank and all works well. Running Ao on the provari returns the correct resistance and everything seems to work fine. However, if I'm taking real long pulls the hit starts off as expected then gets progressively harder. After a couple hits like that I get an awful burnt taste and the pull is basically impossible.

Any idea whats happening?

I would cease using the condom method if somebody kidnapped somebody I love and held them hostage and said that from now on I had to use carto's.

Forgot to mention, this happened with two brand new cartos after I dropped the provari on concrete. The point of impact was the drip tip though, which broke off and part of it jammed in the original carto.

poor draw from the juice most likely due to the viscosity of the high VG, is this a carto tank? if so you may need to punch another hole Or a larger hole in the carto to get the higher VG juices to flow correctly

Because they are cartos.

Try dripping into it at an acute angle and not getting any liquid into the cylindrical hole that goes up the length of the carto. And use less, don't soak it. And once it's burned toss it in the trash and forget about preserving it.

It hasn't had enough time in the carto to soak. I use the condom method to get it slushy when I look from the top, insert into the tank and do a couple pulls on it to draw in a bit more juice. If I see bubbles, it is in need of more juice.

Also, you may want to make sure the holes in your carto are enough to let the juice resoak the carto.

More or larger holes/slots. 70% vg is thick.

You may need to go to a bigger hole in the carto or more holes due to the high VG ratio. As for filling I found that the thermometer method works best for me. Drip a few drops and shake it like an old thermometer. Continue till full. Great for the flabby arms also.

I've heard that if you punch a hole through the foam you are asking for trouble. You don't want the liquid inside the center hole. You want the foam damp, not drenched. How you keep it damp while tank feeding it is a secret that only carto fanboys know about.

Well as a "carto/tank fanboy" I've never burned a carto yet. I've had some last over two weeks. It just takes a bit of time and patience to get it right. But then I vape a 70PG/30VG. Due to the severe COPD I can't take a thick juice. As for punching through the foam, yes it can be done. There are enough video's out there on the proper way to punch a carto. Truth is to buy pre-punched cartos. I'd post a link but am using my phone at the moment. A little research and some searches on ECF will provide tons of information.

The carto hate is strong. I'm still a n00b to the PV world so cartos are a good stepping stone to RBAs. I'll try another carto with the fill method you described.

Yeah I'm using pre punched and tested cartos, bought them that way.

If you punch through the foam you get juice in the center hole and it does not go into the foam. You want to penetrate the skin but you don't want perffed foam.

That is what they tell me. I don't use one. I loaded one up for somebody else today, who had that kind of a setup and wanted me to do it. I certainly didn't use the condom method, I dripped about ten drops directly into foam from the drip bottle and filled his tank about a quarter way up with the juice he wanted to bum off me. It vapped real good. But I still don't care for them.

If you get an RBA make sure you have a device that can read your atty resistance.

Yeah I'm using a provari. I tried a fresh carto yesterday. Dripped 10 drops on top and slid it into a tank with some of the 70/30 juice. Works fine so far.

Apparently the condom fill was the problem.

Another approach might be to drip 20 or so drops into the threaded end of the carto - nice and slowly. I've been doing it this way with 2 ohm single coil, single punch Smoks and have three tanks running beautifully. The top looks dry, but so far, at least, it works.
