I've heard "they are designed to last 20 years" but is anyone posting on here with a 20 year old
computer or using a 20 year old cell phone, TV or other electronic device?

I doubt Provari warranties against being run over by an excavator.

Anything I've sent back in 3 pieces usually voids the warranty.

you be hard pressed breaking a Provari into 3 pieces ... outside of a wood chipper.

You might break the woood chipper trying to do that, lol.

The fact is... if you did manage to do that and send them the pieces they may say you voided your warranty. But they'd be happy to sell you the replacement parts and fix it for you. Customer Service that's why I will always support ProVape!

I agree with the outstanding customer service.

we may not be using 20 year old computers anymore (OS make them obsolete) ... but I've seen quite a few 20-40 year old cars still working well.

funny thing with the Provari is ... in 20 years, it may just very well be working just as well as it does today ... and that original kayfun topper may also keep on vaping as awesome as it does now.

im just getting into mods, i wasnt gonna spend that kind of money on just the mod, i got a nitecore i4 charger 1 sony vtc battery the stillare atty and maraxus mod, for $150 if i went for an authentic i wouldnt even of had enough for the mod itself, and it took me about 1 month of saving all my extra cash to get that $150 i could blow on this new hobby.

all i know is this maraxus and stillare clones hit a lot harder than my protank 3 on my vision spinner and blows clouds just as big as a guy i know with an authentic hollow-out which has copper contacts.

that being said i do plan on one day getting an authentic but for now ill stick with the cost effective clones.

one thing i dont understand though is why does it cost so much more to make an "authentic" vs a "clone" they are essentially the same (assuming one could find an authentic and clone made of the same materials) using the same process to make them, all they are, are pieces of metal cut out on a flow jet. atleast thats how i see it and if im wrong please correct me. :)

The short answer Ken ... a lot of clones are made with a lower grade substance and the quality control is not as high ... pair that with really cheap labour ... you get lower quality product that may appear to look and work like an original, however, in the long haul ... the well made original with high quality control will likely outperform and outlast the cheaper clones.

And this applies to virtually clones of everything.

Lol i call bs on this clone build inferior to original. My bro is an 'elitist' muppet and tried to bore me with the same drivel, yet his brass stingray has the same crunchy switch issue as my clone x, until its cleaned up and they work great. Oh wait his came with a that nice pouch my bad lol. His authentic akuma is IDENTICAL to my acerig clone, he has NOTHING to say when they are side by side, except now he has his new fancy switch lol

Stainless steel, copper, brass, (good) clone or authentic its THE SAME materials don't kid yourselves lol support small business with huge profit margins and less then perfect build quality, and a v1.5 coming out a week later? I doubt it i saw the porches at vapefest i dont buy into that 'help the little guy' nonsense when nobody is helping me, especially when originals aren't without there faults and clones are getting better and better. Only original i'd consider would be an elements bt 5th series since it actually couldn't be cloned properly due to the exotic materials used, but $1,500? You gotta be king of suckers to spend that on an ecig.

Those saying chinese products are made poorly should double check their tv brand, smartphone, laptop, i could go on. If you wanna buy original fair enough go you but i don't know why people insist on publicly spewing bollox to help you justify their purchase to themselves, and put down those that buy clones as cheap. i got clones but i splash on things that are deserving of it, i wont cheap out on kicks, stereo equipment, my living room tv, my laptop i use also for work, or my watches as i like certain things made by experts and proven to be worth the hefty price tag. I could buy originals but its not worth it in my opinion we're not talking about a swiss watch, made from THE BEST materials, made so finely it cannot be copied by anyone less then another swiss watch expert. Its a damn copper, stainless steel or brass pipe, with battery contacts vent holes and a switch, inspired by a torch, made by some guy who wants to make money in a new industry.

As previously said i challenge any elitist to put their good ol' merican hana next to my IPV2 and tell me its build quality isn't crap in comparison, gluey messy internals and a crappy 510 connection lol.

A lot of these mods are just knockoffs or redesigns of existing ones with a new logo, maybe with a different type of switch lock. And nothing that can't be replicated and mass produced by a company with the finances to allow proper distribution, and not hand out lists that a bunch of pretentious jokes to join only so they can come on here and say look at me i buy original, if you don't do the same i'm better then you LOL get a life.

Thats not to say everyone who buys originals is a pretentious mug, only those nobs who think it makes them superior to anyone else. If you define people based on what ecig they use then you need to speak with someone professional as you clearly have a self esteem issues. In the end originals may be marginally better especially when they are hand made like the steampunk (another original i'd happily spend on and intend to very soon), but the majority are not $150+ worth of better compared to the clones and its anybody's right to think that

Hi, as far as clones and genuine mods are concerned, I actually have both. In my opinion, the genuine article is usually made better HOWEVER, clones give people who can't otherwise afford the real deal a chance to expirence the mod. It may not be constructed with the highest quality but they can still expirence it, none the less. Not everyone can afford hundreds of dollars for the genuine article. In that since, clones help those who otherwise couldn't afford the product. I completely understand your argument, however, look at it from the other side as well.not everyone can afford a genuine product. So clones also have their place...if nothing else, they help people who can't afford and otherwise wouldn't be able to get the product at all. So the clone in that since is important as well. I understand your point as well but looking at it from a standpoint of someone who does not have a lot of money, the clone can be a wonderful thing. It's affordable and helps those who otherwise wouldn't be able to expirence the product. Even if the clone is substandard to the real article, and in many cases that is arguable as well. Many clones are well built...so in my opinion, the clone has its place in the market too. Hope you understand my point.

As I don't use a mod type device and have only used cigalike in my 2.5 years of vaping, I really don't have any emotional investment in the debate. I may someday get a clone. If I do, it will be partially because of affordability. I will know I'm engaged in something unethical, and won't dance around that issue. I don't get why people in this discussion try to dance around it. If FDA is really really super duper harsh on the device market, clones will be an answer to that. Not the only answer, but an answer. Arguably 5 years from now, clones may be what anyone who is not using a cigalike is purchasing. They will be part of a black market, and will be as popular, maybe even more popular than they are today.

There will be no way clones will be regulated out of existence.

I haven't read the whole thread, tbh I haven't any of it, but just want to say as someone who just intuitively felt clones were a bad thing - I just couldn't get past the idea they were adidas with 4 stripes or even just plain counterfeit adidas - I've changed my mind recently. I think American/Premium manufacturers may actually look back at clones as far less of a competitive threat to their business as the cheaper competition catching up to them on their own terms is.

I have a Paps clone so everytime I use it I can't shake a little nag that I wish it was authentic with that premium quality so am very, very tempted to buy a genuine one. Lo and behold, they're never in stock. Clones can't be affecting them too badly then surely?

I would be the same with a Hana clone I think, always comparing it unfavourably with a genuine one and feeling inferior about it (not that I'd lose sleep, just a little itch). Clones are constantly going to be placed against the items they copy, and price will be the only area on which they beat them.

However, something like an ipv 2 or Sigelei 100w, they're genuine product killers. Better technology at cheaper prices? That's what companies need to be worried about now I believe, cloning will seem like flattery in comparison.

I'm all for clones. You need the battery to connect and make heat to create vapor. That's about it. Sure you're going to find some defective clones because there are so many more than the authentics (in most cases).

If one of these companies wanted to patent their design and then mass produce - this wouldn't be an issue. It would also bring down the price of an authentic mod so everyone can get one.

Having said all that --- I WOULD buy a nice mech mod as an investment. In 20 years, these mods will all be mass manufactured and patented and probably quite limited to a limited number of manufacturers - pushing some of these little guys out.
