Ahoy All.

A dreary, rainy, morning here in the Sunshine State. There hasn't been much activity here so I thought I'd try to get things rollin again. I don't know about you but I can't wait for this new batch to come out. I'm so looking forward to getting the 26650 DNA40 Destroyer. The little tease that Cappy put on here has my anticipation on edge. I get nothing but compliments on my Cutlass and I look forward to the same with the Destroyer. I've been reading alot about Nickel builds and have been trying them out on the X-Pro M80 that I had purchased last month. I really look forward to see how much better they are with the DNA40.

Well that's about it. Just wanted to try and start things up again. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Arrrrr!

Busy busy busy ... so much to do.

I decided to concentrate on the mods of the batch that people have called dibs on. So far I've completed the two 26650 mods and the Cutlass with B&W ebony. A few minor details and I will be able to ship them. I also started work on finishing the Bloodwood Cutlass today.

I underestimated the difficulty of using 18 gauge wires, very slow going. I used to be able to install the electronics in 4 or more mods per day, now I'm pushing it to finish just one.

Here's a quick pic. The recharger is getting a final check.

I'll get them ready to go tomorrow and get the website ready to handle the transactions for them. I will also get some decent pics of the completed mods up as well.

Lots to do tomorrow.....

Have a fine week all, arrrr

Ahoy everyone!
I'm pretty happy to see the last ones from Cappy, looks like we'll have some 26650 DNA40? Wow that sounds exciting! With the boxes being all over the place, I hope more people will get to hear of RSM, Cappy is probably one of the few top mod maker right now, and concerning boxes...well he sure knows what he's talking about. I'm glad to see that the prices are still very reasonables too. Damn, I was out of the Ecig industry for a while, but last time I checked I could see that there's some kind of a race to know who will get the most expensive device out first. 700-1000 bucks for a mod....when the chip is still a DNA40 or a SX350 inside? Come on! This is real craftmanship here, and care taken into building them.

I tried the DNA40 myself, I must say I was pretty excited about the whole temp control thing....but I just couldn't find a set up that works well for me. Nickel in a pain to work with, it's fiddly and sometimes it works great for a day and then the resistance starts jumping around and I get some temp control and wattage down as soon as I press the fire button, in the end I just went back to normal set up with kanthal, good thing is the DNA40 allows that too. I think I'll stay out of temp control as long as a guy doesn't come up with an easier to work with material. I don't really want to spend 20mns building a coil and have to select which atty works with that, I'm too comfortable with Kanthal right now and can build something that's close to a perfect vape in less that 5mns... I have my favorite wicking materail, favorite atties and all my mods are in a weekly rotation depending on the mood I'm in, i'm getting too old to spend more time experiencing than actually vaping! :p

Take good care of yourself Cappy! :toast:

Now, what the heck kind of mod is worth a thousand bucks? I'm still waiting for someone to order a jewel encrusted mod with gold filigree and satellite TV. And why hasn't a celeb given me a shout? Aren't I famous too? No? #&@*#, figures.... har!

I have seen some tube mech mods that are hand engraved that were selling for up to $3,000!!!

I guess you buy this and put it on the shelf and say "Look what I got".

At that price that thing better do more than blow smoke!!! :D :p

I hope you have smooth sailing for years to come with her.

Here are some pics for the thread I wasn't able to post before I shipped off some finished mods;

Get a load of this Cutlass 5.1 from 2011 that came in for a new engine. Isn't she a beauty? She's been shipped back home where I hope it lasts for another 4 years!

Here are the two finished 26650 destroyers before they were boxed up;

And also the Cutlass40, Black walnut with B&W ebony

And here is a picture of a Scallywag that I had in the box and forgot about. 3.7V mods are much easier to build than regulated mods so I figured I'd finish it up and get it on the website.

Curly tiger maple with a Black walnut layer.

Isn't it cute?

Ok, I'm gonna quit for the night, feeling pretty beat after a long day in the shop followed by a few hours of yard work with a chain saw. Later all, arrr

Oooh what did you put into the 5.1? Also super stoked to get vape mail although living in BFE and with it coming from FL I probably won't see it until Monday if I am lucky more likely Tuesday (because for some reason stuff that should be delivered Monday never gets delivered here till Tuesday) Although I should feel lucky Cappy doesn't use Smart post or the new UPS equivalent because then it would be postponed an extra 3 days :)

I just replaced the old SWADJ3 regulator with a new one.

NOTE TO ALL!

I forgot to mention, on the new DNA40 regulated mods the battery is installed upside down! The DNA40 board does have reverse battery protection but I for one would like it not to be tested except by mistake.

The springy tab thingy (technical term) is for the negative side of the battery. I did it this way to give me more room to run wires.

Have a great weekend all, arr

Ahoy Cappy!

Well the mailman came this morning and thar she was!!!! My girl has come ashore!! I think I pushed him out of the way before he could close the mailbox door. :D

Cappy it is BEAUTIFUL!! I can't believe I own another one of your works of art! I've said it before and I'll say it again. Pictures do not do these mods justice. Of course I'm going to post some pics a little later. This fits so good in the hand and the pistol grip is just perfect! Thanks again Cappy!!!!!!!!

Now, Time for the Happy Dance!!!!:rickroll::headbang:

Which begs the question...Is the spacing such that a flat top battery may be used?

Ahoy All.
Ok so I was finally able to put my new Destroyer down for a few minutes to take some pics. I'm using a subtank mini with a 0.14 coil that I rebuilt in a subtank coil housing. I have it at 470 degrees at 24 watts.
Now on with the show! Arrrrrrr
