Ahoy me 'earties, happy Monday!

Smooth sailing continues here at RSM, slow and steady.

Finishing up the desk caddies today and hopefully they will all be ready to ship tomorrow, then on to the next batch.

Hello everyone,

Deb brought me over here and got me interested in these mods.

I just don't seem to find many videos other than from the maker or I seem to be too stupid to find them.

Could someone be so kind and put a link to a video of the quoted mod? Is this the Vw version? Why do I see some with the display inside the mod and some on the bottom or side?

Is there a difference between the dna and the rm2?

Sorry for all the questions but the last sky mod I saw was back in the day with the grip for your fingers a few years back.

Thank you all so much.

Yes, I'm sorry about the video review thing. I only get about one text/website review for every 100 mods I seem to sell and I have not seen a video review for so long I can't remember. Not much I can do about it though, I'm completely at the mercy of the buyers.

Have a great day all, arrrr!

Looks like somebody snapped it up and it wasn't me.

I just found this thread. I didn't know anyone was making DNA BFs, but I definitely want one. :D

Yeeeaaaa.....that was me. I decided to give RSM a crack. I'm definitely can't get away from bottom feeders. I'm curious on how i will like the DNA chip. I haven't used a regulated mod in about 10 months. Plus the cutlass was pretty sexy so it didn't take too much to twist my arm :). Now I guess I have an excuse to talk pirate talk :D

So...i've been mechanical for quite some time now. What resistance should I start with with a DNA 20 chip?

Good day Crew!
Congrats on the new arrivals, some real beauties in there. And a 25 boxes caddy? Really? Well, I couldn't buy one of these with my need to fill empty spaces :D

I ordered a Reomizer this weekend for my lady, she managed to melt the insulator on the Era she's been using for months and I wanted to try one of these myself for quite some time now. I thought about getting a Chalice on the last batch, but couldn't click the "Pay" button in the end. It sure is the sexiest BF atomiser on the market and I reckon it should be the best one, but I could just get two cyclons for the price. Oh well...maybe someday :D

Have a nice one RSM lovers :)

Ahoy aidreon!

The other types I've tried have had air holes in the side. On an A7 I can squonk as I draw on the drip tip and when I hear a slight gurgle I know the wick is wet. With the other types all I can do is squonk, count a couple seconds and give it a try. Kinda hit or miss. Also I've had juice leaking out the air hole at times.

Are there others besides the A7 that feed through a bottom hole? Anyone know?

Due to the cheapness of the way the A7's are built I'm down to my last two functioning ones. I need to order something pretty soon.

I'm almost tempted to get a shipment of them from China again and put them up on the website but I'm not sure of the popularity anymore.

i doubt you'd sell them. The A7s were notorious for wobbly centre pins and i made it a habit to screw mine all the way up. They would short from pin to 510 thread.

An igo-s drilled right thru the middle post fits in the cup on a RSM and most, but not all of my RM2s do. There are also any number of clones that can be drilled to work simply and the ones with brass pins are the easiest, assuming you don't have some allergy to brass, in which case you'll need to drill SS and i feel your pain!

Now i think of it, things like a Killer will also work as just an atty, and in my experience, it's not necessary to use the whole resistance/non-resistance wire nonsense.

Igo-s, I will have to take a look at them.

-----

Well me 'earties, finally the end o' the day for ol' cappy. I was setting up to make an 8 slot box caddy and could not find the CNC file anywhere. I looked and looked and finally suspected that when I made the 10 box caddy I used the 8 box as the template and wrote over the original file. Lost 4 hours re-programming something that was already done.... stupid.... ah well.

But I'm caught up with the caddies again and they will ship tomorrow. I'll snap a picture or two so you all can see them finished.

The captain will be below decks. Steady on 'till morning. arrrrr

I just got my RM2 today and I'm definately liking it better than A7. More vapor and easier to rebuild too.
I wonder why chinese are not making RM2 clones.

The Chinese already make the RM2, Rob just modifies them for bottom feeding. Same with the igo-s he carries.

I've never used an RM2 since it's made of plated Chinese brass (worried about lead), but his igo-s is a very solid performer for the price. On par with the ERA and Cyclone for sure.

Ahoy all.

Thinking what to say today when suddenly I remembered what I was supposed to do. BLAST!! I forgot to take pics of the 25 box caddy. Too late now as it's boxed up and waiting to get loaded onto the mail boat.

I'm still waiting to hear back from Evolv. They didn't contact me for my scheduled regulator shipment, I don't know what's going on there. Next batch might be all 3.7v mods if they don't get busy.

I also want to sit back and review sales on the desk caddies and perhaps consolidate designs or tweak them at least to make them better adapted to vaping life. I'm also wondering if I should design a large DIY caddy able to hold a bunch of 30 ml and smaller bottles.

Anyway, on with Tuesday, arrrrr

are you serious... now I'm paranoid...

just did some search and reading & I decided to trust this post. Just so I can be happy again.

Great quote. As a brewer I've spoke with Palmer on many occasions & I'll just say calling him brilliant isn't even scratching the surface. 90% of my metallurgy knowledge has come directly from listening to his talks, reading his papers & email correspondence with him.

Surface lead will leach into an acidic solution. I've never bothered taking a pH reading on any of my juices, but I would imagine that the citric fruit flavors would have higher levels of acid, depending on how the flavoring extract was produced. In brewing we are soaking much, much larger brass parts in solutions down to 3.0pH, which is quite acidic. As Palmer noted, this isn't really a concern but he provides the info for those who want to get rid of it anyways for piece of mind.

To answer your most important question, "Once the surface lead has been leached away or removed, will it leach out of the brass to the surface again?" No. It will not. Even under acidic conditions, once you've removed surface lead, it's gone & the brass is stable. The only way to expose more lead is to machine the surface of the brass, removing the old, treated surface & creating a new surface where the lead will again be present.

Note that even though lead is accumulative in the body, meaning one large dose or many smaller doses that add up to the same amount can be equally harmful, the amount we're talking about here is miniscule. Even with the accumulative nature, the amount of surface lead on such a tiny piece of hardware will not hurt you. You could use a new piece of hardware that size every single day for the rest of your life & suffer no ill effect from it.

And there seems to be a good cleaning method... maybe I'll soak my RM2 as per this instruction.
