Arrr, still no word from Evolv concerning the dna regulators.

I've been looking at alternatives, I wonder how everyone would feel about me changing regulators? Probably to the SX350 which would provide up to 35 watts and allow for sub-ohm vaping down to .2 ohms.

Naturally I would have to change the regulator layout and make small alterations to the mod designs but I really need to know that when I need a regulator I am going to get it without standing in line for weeks/months....

Here is the data, your input is always welcome .... 2014 Newest High Power Yihi Sx350 30w Buck-bost&boost Single Battery Dc-dc Subohm 0.2 To 3.0 Ohm 5w To 30w 1.5v To 9.5v

There are other regulators on the market, but I think this would be the best alternative to the DNA boards.

This is all going to take time though, I guess I could make another small batch of 3.7v mods? Good grief.....

What you all think?

Agree, it also has a gravity adjust system where tilting it adjusts the voltage without the need for external buttons for + and -

Not sure exactly how that works but looks very interesting.

The board dimensions seem to be about 1.8" x .78" x .48" ... that's pretty big. It would definitely require a rethinking of an enclosure to fit it, totally new style probably....

New home, moving closer to Flint where I work. 12 mile commute vs 55 :)

I've heard of it but never been. I haven't ventured much south of Flint. Currently live in a small town in the Thumb and visit my brother in Grand Rapids now and then. Otherwise I usually head north :D

Here is a review of a mod with a similar chip
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPYPP1Jf1sY

Honestly the chip doesn't look bad but I know a lot of people don't like the gravity sensor thing. I personally would rather wait for a DNA chip. I am a little curious if they aren't being slow getting back to you because they aren't making as many 20 boards. It seems like most of the DNA mod makers are switching over to the 30 at this point. For me the 20 is more then enough but I think for many of the mod makers are using the 30 because the updates (wattage lock, lower resistance compatability, and more watts) will bring in more customers.

Honestly I think keeping the DNA chip will attract more attention. The DNA is the hot thing and the SX chips are mostly only being used by Chinese manufacturers or cheaper mods in general. Unless I am guessing wrong here the SX chip will not reduce mod cost by much if any and I think for the average consumer being given the option of buying a RSM with a DNA or a SX chip at the same price is kinda like being asked if you would rather buy a Lincoln Towncar or a Ford Crown Victoria for the same price.

That said if Evolv is refusing to return your contact requests I don't know what else you can do.

Ahoy all, happy Friday!

Well, I'm playing phone tag with Brandon at Evolv. Hopefully he has some good news for me.

I would personally like to stay with the DNA boards, they are already tweaked and in production.

I think these got buried in the thread pretty fast so I am going to bump them...

Well, never heard back from Brandon. I wonder if he works weekends?

For the first time in a long while I have NO desk caddy orders for the weekend. Guess I get to do what I want to this weekend. Got lots of work to do around the house that's been waiting on me, time to get to it I guess.

Think I might have a desk caddy sale sometime next week so I'm busy next weekend.

Have a great weekend all, arrrr

Greetings crew!

I'd also plug a vote for the DNA chips, if only for the made in America bit. Working for the auto industry and whatnot I try to get as much "made in Michigan" stuff first and "made in America" second. Otherwise the DNA name is recognized, trusted, and sought after to the point where it may bring in more business.

Congrats on a great find, they are very nice I've got two.

I would prefer the DNA, having to change the designs yet again doesn't sound very appealing to me on second thought. It would be nice to make more than 3 or 4 batches before the next big change happens again.

The reverse battery protection they have incorporated in them is awesome, but honestly the only mod that I can ever recall being nuked from having the battery put in backwards is the mod I gave my ol' lady when she started vaping and the first time she put in a batt it was backwards. Zapppp... no more DNA12.....

---

Had the whole family outside today working in the 88 degree Florida sunshine. Got a lot more done on the tear down of the old screened in part of the pool. Previous owners used to raise dogs, then birds, then cactus's in a graveled in back part of the pool area and the whole thing was starting to collapse from rotting wood. We've been tearing it all down and making a mess but it's looking better every day we get out there and work on it. Less is more, in my opinion. I'm trying to clear up the yard clutter they left.

Nice to work outside though and nice to have a pool to fall into when you feel faint from the heat ... yo ho!

Have a great weekend all, arrr
