According to Evolv both the dna 20 and dna 30 measure:
.65" x 1.30"
.35" thick
.69" OLED
I think the Cap'n said he was using a Chinese dna -like regulator, which apparently isn't a 1:1 copy; some differences in dimension(s), and a difference in the wiring too.

Ahoy all, kinda busy weekend, but I have another Cruiser ready for the website tonight. I have several desk caddies I need to finish tomorrow then back to the batch.

This one has a Jolly Roger engraving highlighted in black.

As for regulators, there are a half dozen choices out there to use. I am trying hard to keep using a design that is proven and that has the least issues for reliability. So far the DNA12/20 models are at 100% reliability and I would like to keep it that way for now. I have a warranty as well so if anything does go wrong them I will simply fix it.

I also can't keep changing my designs as it takes weeks of effort to radically alter a design, run a mockup and then make a prototype and finally a production model. I do not have that kind of time right now so I needed to go with the regulators that I already have my models tweaked in to. Perhaps I will be using the SX chip in the future or even other new chips but for now it's this one.

Have a good week all, arrrr

Just received my single box mod caddy from the Capt'. What a fine piece of practical furniture this is. I am always grabbing for a mod at my desk and knocking them over. No mas; thanks Capt'

Ahoy capt. How have you and all these guys been? Just wondering if your making or willing to make any non feeders maybe an extra battery termi all instead for a dual parallel set up with a flat 510 connection. On top for drippers.
Hope everyone In here has been well. Been a long time since I posted anything.

Ahoy!

I used to make a model called the "wench". It was flat topped with a single 18650. Sounds like you would like a Cutlass feeder without the bottle and stuff? Regulated? I will puzzle over it and maybe I can see how to wire it as the battery taking the place of the bottle would block access to the atty connector and there would be no room for the push button inner connection. First time it's been asked for.

Edit: I discovered one Wench in my drawer, it used two 16340 batteries and a 25 watt VV regulator. I think it was made last summer, the last time I made a wench model. It never sold.

Ahoy me 'earties, happy Friday to ye all, arrrr

Maybe you should post pix here of the stuff that hasn't sold sitting in your drawers:)?

Well, the Mark-6 Wench was one of the last one's of those I made so I put it in my collection box. I basically have one of each model I've made put away for posterity. Some of them were my personal mods that were replaced over the years. Not much worthy of selling I'm afraid. The only thing I'm missing is a Mark-1 model from when I first started up :(

Have a great day all.

Hey Cappy have you seen the Fat Daddy 510's? A lot of people are using them now for their mods. Not sure if that would be something you would want or not.

They are of exceptional quality compared to the generic 510 connectors from China that we have been forced to use for the last few years. Unfortunately I can't use these as the thread length is too short for my wood mods and also 3/4 of the mods I make are feeders and they are solid conductors. Hopefully more choices will crop up as I would certainly like to upgrade the weakest point in all the mods I make.

Thanks for the info!

This thread sure meanders in some weird directions occasionally. :p

Just got my Cutlass and what a beautiful piece! Couple of questions. ..

1) having a hard time getting juice to feed from the bottom. Almost seems like something is restricting flow. I use a 70/30 pg/vg mix. Any ideas?

2) my cutlass is a dna20 mod. My 18650 aw imr 1600 mah Batts only last 1-2 hrs. Is this normal? Should I look at buying some more powerful Batts?

I'm only setting it at 12 watts on a 1 ohm microcoil on my rm2 atty.

1 Could be a stiff bottle. The bottles are a bit stiff when new. Someone recommended some alternative bottles a couple pages back larger capacity and softer I have been thinking about trying a couple of these.

2 What ohm/watt combo are you using? I have my DNA Destroyer set to 13 watts and my 2900 Mah Panasonic 10 amps only last about 3-5 hours depending on how heavy I am vaping on it before they lack the power to push my 13 watts and this is at 1.4 ohms. Most days I use 3-4 batteries and go through about 2.5 tanks in my Russian 91%. I no longer have 1600 mah AW's but I am guessing 1-2 hours would be about right.

I have the same type Cutlass. I have found that I need to squonk a good 8-10 seconds to saturate the wick using an RM2. It, IMO takes longer squonk than a Reo but I quickly got use to it.
As far as the batteries I have found with any DNA20 one needs to pull and reinsert the battery at times to receive an accurate battery level reading. Using a 1 ohm coil at 15 watts I usually get about 3 hours from an AW 1600 18650 pretty much chain vaping the mod.
