I just received my Odin yesterday, and I like it quite a bit. Compared to my other 22mm bottom fed atty, an origin v2, I prefer the Odin for several reasons.

A more open draw, ease of build, and a bit better flavor. The price is great as well.

I wonder if the catch cup of an RSM could be milled down for a 22mm atomizer...

RM2 (Reomizer 2). Thank me later.

T

Ok Trunker I've taken your advice and ordered the Brass Reomizer 2.0. Hope it arrives at the same time as my Bloodwood Cutlass. It stated something about letting them know if this was going on a wood mod. Don't know why as they don't really state anything other than to let them know.
So we'll see.

Hope it's as good as you say! Thanks again for the advice. :toast:

We just need a machinist to make a few 23-24mm catch cups for dirt cheap :D would solve all of our problems lol.

I had a thought about that and PM'd Capt' about an idea I had a few weeks ago. Either my idea was not a good one or maybe not feasable or maybe he was to busy making the last batch.

Knowing me, (personally I might add), it was probably a dumb one !!! :D

Whoa... just got my mod... Cappy! What a flawless job! The tiger wood is way more quilted than I expected, the finish is to die for (is this a CA finish?? And wow... did you sand to 2500?). I was happy with my African Mahogany finish on my 26650, but this one's even better! I'm very picky about finishes... if I'm going to be holding a mod, I'm going to spend a lot of time looking at it, and I tend to get really nitpicky about detail because it's in my face so much. You can tell you put in a lot of extra finish work on this one. It also fits in the hand way better than I expected, very comfortable. Flawlessly clean in every way, I squirted through 1 bottle of water, I popped in some juice, and I was vaping:).

The DNA 30 is great, I still have to figure it out. I THINK it checks the battery level automatically? (little pix of battery on the screen). I love new toys, and this was even better than I expected (and at this price, I had high expectations:))!!!

The photos just do not do either the design or the finish quality justice. Actually, this is the first wooden mod I've ever bought that I am not even tempted to refinish out of the box (that's not to insult any other wooden mods I've bought, as a glass person, I'm just really picky about surface finishes... yes, this surface is darn close to glass). Just out of curiosity, I tried to apply some Howards to see if it would absorb... nope. The finish on this is like a wood car dash... flawless. And I love the asymmetrical design on the spalted doors. What a work of art:).

Thank you, I couldn't be more pleased:).

Multiple tens of times per second, if memory serves.
More info http://www.evolvapor.com/datasheet/dna30.pdf

Do not, I repeat not, put your battery in upside down with the current revision of the DNA boards.
You will have a lovely wooden paperweight.

Until you hold an RSM you can't know how nice they are :)

Yeah I really like the Odin and yes I was wondering the same thing. It would look perfect on it.

Ahoy all, happy Monday!

-----------------

Thank you very much for the kind words GG.

I have mentioned it many times before but not lately. After the finish is dry I do give them a wax and buff with carnuba wax. It will not take long for the wax to be worn off leaving the original satin finish.

Howards feed n wax is a great idea as always. I splash some on mine often to keep the wood moisturized and a bit shiny.

As for sanding, I use a belt sander at 150 grit, then hand sand at 220 and 600 grit. Put on a coat of sealer finish and sand again at 600 grit. Once that is dry I again put on a coat of polyurethane and hit it with 1500 when it is dry. Then each successive coat gets hit with 1500 to make sure the next coat sticks.

Of course, after months and months of use the finish will get worn down by fingers to the base wood, can't be helped but that is where the Howards Feed n wax comes in handy to keep the wood moisturized.

(Edit: I've been thinking of trying to use a air brush paint system to apply the finish on them, but I have no skill using one except for some hobby use some 25 years ago. Sometimes applying the wipe-on finish leaves streaks that look like a somewhat shoddy sanding job, I hate that. If it's not too bad I will leave it, but sometimes I have to sand it back down to bare wood.)

That's a polyurethane finish?? You said it was rubbed... how can it streak if it's a rubbed finish? Is it a trade secret to ask you what kind of poly you use? I thought that was a light CA finish! It's just beautiful!!

It's a wipe on polyurethane of my own mix. I use soft cotton cloths to wipe it on as I found a brush leaves way too many streaks. If I thin the Polyurethane too much to avoid brush streaks then I get a blotchy coat.

I had thought of trying a CA finish but that would leave it with a solid plastic feeling finish and I've always wanted to be able to feel the grain of the wood even after finishing.

I think the CA would be a scratch magnet too....

No... it's actually a lot like this, but thicker, and not very plasticy. Definitely not a scratch magnet either. The key is the amount of sanding you do... until you do it, you don't realize that sanding is not a quick and easy thing to do... further, until you do it, you don't appreciate just how much work goes into getting a great finish. And as Cappy pointed out, even after you get the sanding perfect, the coatings can be tricky. Very nice:). I'm enjoying the DNA30 too....seems simple enough... push the up button to up wattage and the down button to drop wattage. I can do that :p.

And thanks for the DNA30 info, Jakematic, will go look at it now:).

Interesting. Would have expected it to be more brittle.

Well.... after growing up in the carpentry and cabinetmaking fields, spending a decade in the ultra high end furniture business (think $40k dining table), and puttering around nowadays.... I can tell you I wouldn't want to try doing CA ! :p

Will do. I think they are 14mm so it should fit.

The only thing I have found on the size say they are 16mm. I hope they work having another option for BF attys even if they need to be modded would be great.

To everyone that is getting their RSMs today congrats pics look great.
