Ahoy!

I just finished the first of the Marauder Mark 3's and needed to test the electronics. As the screw on voltage meter won't reach down into the tank well I just screwed on my Phoenix and gave it a vape...... WOW!

The Phoenix is a dual coil at half an ohm and I hit it with a fresh 18650 battery... what is that, about 35 watts? I'm vaping 18 mg juice and my head is still buzzzzzzing after a few hits... wow again.. don't know how people can vape that all day long.

As you can see I also installed a 25 amp fuse it it too.

I started with 24 and was working down to 18 but moving back towards 24 more often - only time it was too much was once when I was taste testing a half dozen juices real fast.
There only one other guy around here that will drip 24 - most of the others won't even try it in a tank.

My good friend that I converted to vaping with a cutlass 5.1 had some 18mg in it and asked if I wanted a toot to try the flavor.

Being a 3-6mg guy, it was akin to a shotgun in the mouth =P

Nothing says "I Love You!!" like a good 24mg hit on a super sub ohm atty pushing ultra high wattage!!!

Well all my juice is 24mg, but I usually build 0.5 - 0.8 ohms on mechs.
I guess I built up a good nicotine tolerance during 45 years of sucking stinkies.

24mg is where I started a couple of years ago. Now I'm at 3mg and have been making 0mg and switching between the 2 so hopefully I'll be nic free in the near future. I don't think I'll stop vaping though because it has become a great hobby.

I did, but only briefly - approximately 1 week. But I did not force my nic drop for the sake of dropping. I know when I was ready to drop. I was not vaping very much and more than 3 hits in a session had me experiencing nic OD.

Not really. I know that when I'm sub ohming I burn through it, but I also Love vaping at 1.2 to 1.5 in my various attys and don't use any more than I used to.
Like penguiness I'm not forcing myself to drop. That's why I will switch from 3mg to 0mg if I find I'm vaping a lot or back to 3mg if I'm not satisfied. Guess it just depends on the mood I'm in.

I guess I've been vaping around 18 to 24 mg for years due to the ... hmm... "adequate" vapor I was getting from pre-made 2.5 ohm coils I was used to using. I needed it that high to not have cravings.

Since I finally ventured into the realm of coil building, sub-ohm vaping and higher watts I'm finding I don't need to vape as much and more than a few hits will make me dizzy.

Question.... at about what mg level does the sharp/bitter taste of nicotine mellow out? I also don't want to find myself craving even when I'm vaping regularly. I'm thinking my next juice order might be around 8 mg? Suggestions?

That might be dependent on the brand of nicotine the makers/you use along with nic level.

The nic I have from Wizard Labs is very harsh (throat hit wise) and has a lot of pepper taste. The nic from Nude Nicotine is a lot more mellow and clean tasting. I mix between 3mg and 5mg and use 5-6ml daily for reference.

When I started using the velocity with .15 ohm dual coils I dropped from 18 mg to 6 mg instantly. Juice consumption of course tripled from 3-5 ml a day to 10-15 ml a day. Currently working though my stockpile of 18 mg juice, cutting it to 6 mg in 120 - 150 ml batches as I go. I'm happy at 6 mg, no cravings and I found my juice was over flavored to begin with - actually tastes better diluted by 2/3.

I agree with Waho. I have no problems with the nic I use which is from MFS, but when I want to treat myself and buy some premium juice I have had some that taste peppery. I don't think it has to do with nic level and would be more with the ingredients.

If you still have plenty of 18 and 24 mg, you could buy 6mg and mix them together. If not, I recommend going no lower than 12mg so you step down slowly. You don't want to drop down too far, too quickly. That would result in going right back to 18 and 24mg.

I have maybe 150ml of juice before I run out. I used to buy and mix about 600ml at a time and just order when it got low. I also have vaped a 20% cinnamon into menthol mix for years as well too and I've always used the PG80 juice.

So I guess, from what I've read so far is try around 12mg and I may lower the PG/VG ratio and see how that works.

It's funny that even after almost 5 years of vaping I can still feel like a novice at times!

4.5 years here and I feel the same way. There is always something to learn and new things arriving on the scene every day.

Well, again I feel like a complete idiot .....

I have a handful of small 5ml sample bottles I've gotten over the years (and forgotten about) so I just loaded up one into my mod. It's 12mg, 80% VG, and labeled "Dragon Fruit" from Vaporbomb.

Really great vapor production. No more stinging throat hit (that makes me reluctant to vape sometimes) and tastes pretty darn good!

Well, well, well.... I've managed to put a bit of fun back into vaping, heh ... what's next ... 8mg Green Apple....

I keep a big bottle of 2mg unflavored to dilute the rare bottle of commercial juice I buy. Great way to lower nicotine if you don't mind the flavor being mellowed out.

That's kind of funny cause I been considering going the other way and raising the level of some that I have. I haven't done it yet because of weakening the flavor.
