If I already had one that looks a whole lot like the piece of wood on the right, I'd use the piece of wood on the left.
That has been my quandary since the ironwood block arrived. Didn't realize how close it was, but really it's only in strong light that it looks so close. My Rosewood burl pinch looks very brown indoors and the ironwood yellows come out well indoors. If I already had one that looks a whole lot like the piece of wood on the right, I'd use the piece of wood on the left.
So, question or rather maybe a pole? Decided to give myself a gift for retiring the vendor business. Ok, yeah it's just an excuse to buy a mod...LOL. But I asked my buddy Peter to put me on the list as I doubt there will be too much mod buying in my future (I tend to prefer building). So not like I don't have plenty of time to make this decision, but anyway, here are the two wood blocks I purchased I am deciding between. Interested in others opinions.

Himalayan Golden Teak (White Teak):

Thoughts??
That's so funny, as I was just saying that exact same thing to BobC last night chatting. The Teak is thicker if I wanted a dual battery mod, but I have no idea if I do or not.....LoL. But personally, as for oil wax, this ironwood has tons of figuring in the light color section which stays much sharper with glossed CA. Never been big on oil / wax personally as I enjoy the look and protection of CA.Hey _J
Great news about your back and your Mom
I've eyed (what I think is) that same block of teak and if I remember correctly it's big enough for a Nutter. Me personally, golden teak Nutter but I'm loving the ironwood too. If you go with the ironwood, it has a great look and feel with an oil/wax finish which would also set it apart even more from that beautiful rosewood.
Decisions, decisions...
Damn I hate you. Now you really have me thinking of using the second block for a Nutter.Hey _J
