Does anyone here use a torch to heat up their coils when building? I've seen several that sit on top of the canister and seem to just work nicely. I've always used a torch lighter that just went south on me so I'm in the market for a replacement...what have you guys had success with and what should I avoid?

Torch lighters do not live very long in my experience.

Not exact sure what you are looking for. But I've had good luck out of this one http://m.harborfreight.com/micro-torch-42101.html?utm_referrer=direct/not provided

For the money it can be considered disposable. I've had similar style torches that were much more expensive that crapped out in no time.

I second this recommendation. They last a good long while and they are cheap.

I have a $20 micro pen style from Ace that doubles as a soldering iron that has lasted quite a while too.

Hi all. Hope your weekend's going well.
Well we got up to 60 today and I celebrated by getting a Cloupor Mini (actually I'd ordered it off of Ebay earlier in the week and it just came in). It's a great little device and I prefer it to the Istick (it's got a beefier feel, it's not pulse-width modulated so it doesn't have that rattlesnake sound, and it takes a 18650 rather than an internal battery). The only downside is that my KFL (w/the Plasma of course) overhangs ever so slightly on it. At just under $50 for a 30w device, it's a bargain, and more importantly, I'm covered while I wait for my Darkstar (hint, hint :D).

Good Morning Trippyville,
Well we're having a tropical heat wave and boy are we liking it. It's been in the upper 30s and mid 40s over the past few days. So used to the sub-zero temps that I just walk half a mile out to the far edge of the parking lot and back without a coat and it's only 35°F. I know we're in for a whole bunch more Winter but still nice to have this segment of mild weather. I hope everyone is well and enjoying the day. Brew
