is copper back as an option? so many options with these babies, it kills me

Yup, all options are on the table. I've gotta go pick them up from the other shop, I'll take some pics of everything, brass, bronze and copper.

Seems like that might be an issue of the atty cap wasn't really tight fitting??

then just pull up on the atty base is all.i would imagine its a lil back and forth on the way out so not to put a buncha pressure on any one side....know what i mean.

I've run a lot of different attys without a problem none of them have caps that are particularly tight. It's more about proper fit, than shear strength of the magnets. It's different than the original model for example; if the screws were replaced by magnets, just holding the cap on top would require a stronger magnet, and keeping it aligned perfectly would probably take more effort.
I'll dig up some video of the machine making the caps and the top of the body. It's cool to watch, the precision has to be right on, they take quite a long time to make, lots and lots of tiny shallow cuts make for the perfect fitment .
Here's a shot of the bottom side of the cap, little chamfer around the perimeter helps it slide right into place with little ...really no effort at all, you just break the connection between the magnets and it slides right out, when you want it too, but even with a stupid heavy atty it takes a lot to remove the cap unintentionally.

Yeah copper sucks to machine, lots of broken bits, it's really so so the chips gall up and the bits stick and break, it's pretty annoying. ..brass and bronze are a walk in the park compared to copper.

armour black is a new color, it's a really nice, not quite flat black, not glossy, looks and feels great.
