Not in Colorado yet!
how did you get it to show amps in that screen. i cant find where it says amps at all

When you are in Escribe and see that screen above, click on the right side of any of those 3 boxes and it brings up a drop down box with a lot of choices.

In stock no. I will be doing another run of them along with the goon. Fill out the doc with exactly what you want.
If you already had one, was gonna snatch it up. There looks to be a media blasted finish that I'd rather have though. Along with a grey and a blue

May be a little early but wanted to ck on progress with the VT 510? :)

Recanted. Disregard.

I have 50 of them and I'm afraid this will be the last varitube products I order.....

So evidently I'm a jerk for buying 50 of your 510s as well as giving you great exposure? Apparently I'm a weirdo for threading the aluminum bodies and not just drilling and dropping, relying on a brass nut for grounding 25 amps as well as stabilizing the connection itself all in a very hostile environment. So much fail......
Recanted. My bad....

I have never been a big fan of name dropping Grandstanders either.

So they appear to read this thread but can't follow who said what.

So, Perry, I said it was ridiculous. Get it strait.
I'd love to hear the reason for such a fine thread. What does that add functionally? Structurally? Cost?

And I'd rather have lots of thread engagement (1/4" here) than rely on a thin nut with virtually no thread engagement. Especially with such a fine thread, but even on M10x1.0 I'd want a lot more than a nut.

Tom, did you see the photo, with the enclosure cut way to thin?

A few drops and that'll rip through if it doesn't strip the nut.

Not fond of the threads where the tubing attaches either. That should be smaller than the thread, smooth or barbed. How hard would it have been to put the threaded part on a mandrel and knock the threads off the last 1/2" or so?

Anyway, as great as spring loaded/auto adjusting is, I think you should stick with your own.

I had high hopes for the self adjusting pin functionality of this
510. Long term durability has been your goal from the start with the LBC and the install recommendations by Perry certainly appear to be a weak point. :(

Well it would seem I should have listened to Momma..... When I was a bright eyed young boy she would always tell me don't knock it before you have tried it.. Due to me not ordering the taps at the same time I ordered the first batch of 510s there was some lag in being able to actually try the 510 with the ultra fine threads. I have now tried it and the threads work fine and go together silky smooth. I cranked it down far tighter than you will ever need to with an atty and it felt rock solid. (It also helps that the LBC has a 6mm deep top for plenty of area for perfect threads). At under 3mm thick I would be very concerned. At 6mm I don't forsee any issues. I will also say this: I'm glad I'm running the threads on a mill with the best aluminum cutting oil available, running that tap in and getting it dead straight freehand would be a nightmare.

Next step; removing the threads on the bottom 4mm of the pin.

In regards to the message from Terry that I posted; I suppose his message was a little harsh but we all have our days. I certainly have. Right Warfrat, Muzik, Yorgi?
