I'm having a little trouble with my O-attys, and thought to ask the assembled experts for help :)

I've been using SS316L, 26 ga. Single, compressed coil, around .4 ohms. Often, when I first fire it to make sure everything is good, one of the legs - the one wrapped around the positive post - breaks. The end of the wire is clipped to the inside, and isn't touching anything. This happens perhaps 50% of the time. What am I doing wrong?
TIA!

Sounds like a severe case of hot legs. Make sure the outer coil is making good contact with the inner coils on both sides and especially the hot side. Short pulses with a squeeze of the ceramic tweezers while firing should do the trick.

Yes, too hot, too quick, is the bane of SS's.

Pulse slowly, never aggressively. If on a VW mod keep the wattage low, in the range of 10-15 to begin. TIP: Try to avoid going above 30W. Or, get a 521 if you can find one.

I understand there is a school of thought that says, "Burn it, wire intended to be burned". SS is the wire that disproves this notion...

Y'all are the best! O-atty is now producing lovely, flavorful plumes of vapor. .72 ohms, 24 watts - perfect! :)

@Hank F. Spankman and @jazzvaper, I reduced the wattage to 10, and went with a few gentle pulses to test the coil. @distortoblotto, as I thought about it, I realized that I was pulling the coil out of shape (I'm not good at wrapping leads), and the posi post lead was red hot. I reversed the coil to wrap from underneath -- much easier! And @Chowderhead1972, there's a good 1ml space from the bf pin. All bases covered!

Many thanks :thumb:

If you want to fine tune the O (HD) lower and raise the coil to taste. It makes a huge difference. I tried it with the coil level with the top of the posts and absolutely hated it and shelved it.. came back a week later and pushed the same coil all the way to the bottom and it was night and day different. It went from a dry Kennedy vape to a swampy Narda vape and then some. I do swampy....

And they wonder why I don't buy the Crapatalk app.

Last I checked, it was free. I've certainly never paid a dime.

I'm not a fan of the permissions it wants on my phone. I just go to the web page on my phone.

Web sites often don't display well on mobile devices. ECF was one of them last I checked.

Notifications work better with the app.

What permissions bother you?
The ones needed for some feature you chose not to use?

FWIW, most of the double post issues are due to the server side plugin not the user app. Network errors exacerbate things. Something causes the server not to communicate that a post succeeded, so the app says it failed. So the user posts again thinking the previous failed.

I've had similar problems with websites and even email.

THAT is EXACTLY what happened:

("You must wait 28 seconds before you post") X (4) = 4 duplicate posts.

Options were "Cancel" or "Contact Us". Why, oh why, would anyone choose "Contact Us"?

The forum has a delay between posts. Supposed to reduce spam. You can't even edit an error without waiting (30 seconds I think).

Any time I get an error, I copy the post, cancel back to the thread, and refresh to see if it went through.

"Contact us" would be to report a bug so it can be fixed.

There is a reason why it's nicknamed Tapacrap.
Of course it works >95% of the time.

But some people expect 5 nines(99.999%) for free.

I don't know of any consumer software that's that good. My web browsers crash more often than I have problems with TT.

It's not free anymore... 2.99 on the iOS App Store.

In regards to the new mod what would you rather have? The LBC jr (dna75/18650) same shape as the LBC but 30% smaller or the Trap mod (dna75/maybe even dna60 optional/ lipo 1850)? Personally I like the Trap mod way better but I realized I never asked your opinions.

My vote is for the LBC jr DNA75/18650 :thumb:

Seems like alot of peeps were scared about the LBC because of the lipo.

Android is still free (or $1/mo for ad-free unless you bought the old ad-free version.
Maybe Apple has a problem with tbe ads?

Looking at it on the iTunes store, it says Free.
Tapatalk - 100,000+ Forums Worldwide on the App Store

I see 3 in app purchase options at $1, $5, and $15. I assume similar to the android options to remove ads ($1/mo, $5/yr, $15 life).

Tapatalk Pro is $3
