Put a 28 awg 316L dual vertical coils in the Nipple. Very flavorful, albeit too restrictive for my taste. I had no trouble with the center post capture. It is on the janky side though. Tried dual 24g (just for the heck of it) and 26g; worked without a problem. It might just be your particular atty.
Maybe it is just mine. I knew that going in with a clone but I'm happy with it once I got my coil set.

Anybody tried the Hype yet? Just wondering what the thoughts are.

If the Hype is anything like the real thing..
The airflow is very smooth as long as you built it the "recommended" way. verticals. Experimented with a few build
configurations, the smoothness of the draw diminishes. That's about it about the atty. I'll take the Manta2 for flavor over the Hype every-time. Heck, I'll take the Stumpy over it for flavor and definitely on airflow.

I got mine in yesterday. Built with dual coils, 5 wrap, 3mm, at .25 ohms. I like it! The air draw is about as minimal as I can handle, though. I actually built it twice as the first time, after washing it, I ended up with some funky flavor. Tore it down and cleaned it and built it again. Still has some off taste, sort of reminiscent of oil. I'm going to take it apart again and all orings and boil the heck out of it and try it again. Easy to build, holds 3mm coils easily, but probably contributes to a more restricted air flow. For a clone, this is very well made. I'm sure after more sanitizing, I can get rid of that off taste. I might drop back to 2.5mm coils and see if that helps with the airflow a bit. But all in all, I'm glad I got it and will probably keep it in my rotation.

That was nearly identical to my thoughts when I was reviewing my authentic a few months ago. Flavor wise not really a stand out but not bad. The hype vs the Manta isn't even a conversation; the manta was purpose built for flavor, the Hype was purpose built to empty wallets both have been very successful. It all comes down to who you want to impress. Want to impress yourself manta, stumpy, etc. want to win friends and impress aquaintances Hype...... I'm just glad I can help you with the latter for under $50 now, I can't imagine how chaffed I would be to have paid $800(current flipper price) for the pleasure.....

The center post wire capture is a POS.

Seems this is a regular thing with clones...in my presquonking days I got two TGT HCigar clones that had the same issue...and as a result the resistance reading was all over the place.

Sadly, I am 2 time zones away from my Hype.

Tell me about it :( I still have to wait for my stuff to cross the Atlantic, and then cross the Mediterranean to its furthest point to get to Egypt, and then somehow wiggle its way past customs to get to me :(

I would be to have paid $800(current flipper price) for the pleasure

Damn!!! $800...this is theft!!...why the heck should anybody pay $800 in an atty???..is it supposed to do anything aside from vaping???

If there's anything one should know, the vaping world moves waaaaaay too fast to invest too much money in a single gear. Plain and simple.

I remember the days when Caravela mechs were 800. Or that time when Hana modz was one of the few companies that had the DNA30 first and couldn't keep up with demand? Those were 700 on eBay. And people were snapping those up.

Dumb.

My most expensive gear is a cc mod, at $450. And that's my upper limit and a rare indulgence. But that is a hand made mod with solid silver positive contact and (now) solid silver negative contact, with the body milled from 7075 alum.

But hm then again, some people also probably think it's crazy to pay 100 bucks for an atty, which I'm much more inclined to. Shrug

Yep. I agree & one may be great & the other not. I have the same hcigar & it has never given me any problems. In fact every blue moon I'll still use it.
Sorry for the stupid question but how do I pay for the hype? No paypal correct?

i did try the hype and after using z coils for so long it was diff getting used to the dual coil again.all i run is stumpys and narda clones,derringers..well and thier is the pancake too.but i do like how the AFC is designed on the hype with the bevel deal on both sides. im running a .28 ohm build with dual 13 wrap each and i cant remember the name of the wire to save my ash but its the 1$ a foot crap i got forever ago.like 20ga er something.

i knew id have to wrap a BUNCH of times to get close to my .35 build.well the .28 isnt super hot at all, takes a lil time to ramp up with my single 18650 mech squonker but expected that.havent tried it on the dual 18650 yet,the maker is on it ATM. but im sure itll be better when i try it.sorry for the crap pic but crap camera.the flavor of my acb/the cure mix is pretty good with the build but i think itll get better when i rip out the huge wire and go with some twisted stuff,my normal wire of choice.batt is dead on the camera so no pics of the build on the Maker atty, but it is a twisted zcoil crammed between the build posts.anyways both are really nice atty,s and look forward to tryin new builds on them both.thanks for a bangin job on both these Tom,2thumbs up man!btw the Maker is a great atty, guess im biased cuz i dig my stumpys and z coils.flavor is really similar to the stumpy...for me anyways.
