Opinion?
OK.
It's a war...between those trying to prove Darwin correct, and those that want to nanny everyone. With many "in-between" people that do their research and like to take chances* for big clouds.
I think it's about Fads, education, risk-taking. I don't find it necessary. Can get plenty of vapor off of normal coils. But that's me.
* = we don't have 20 years of history on this stuff. Basically SLR/cloud-chasing could have more issues if any. Same with battery stressing. But many use caution too.
I look at it just like anything controversial. All the hunters who 'don't care about assault rifles' - because - "why would you need that". Will find a lot less brothers in arms when they come for the hunting rifles.
You have to accept this is part of vaping, even if it seems foolish to you. And support and defend it as you would the way YOU vape. Otherwise divide and conquer rules apply.
I am brand new at vaping, days new at winding my own stuff. And bought batteries capable of putting out well over my anticipated needs. A good charger, and a few RDA's to try. I wound a .7 ohm dual coil and - honestly. Pass. It's too hot. I prefer the tighter hit of say a mini protank and a lot more flavor. So I took it out, wound a 1.2. And closed down the airflow. Much better.
The Aqua clone I have came with dual 1.8ohm coil. No big clouds. Have it pinched down to half an air hole maybe? It's like getting kicked in the chest! Holy crap!
I may change my mind at some point. But as of now. I don't see the point.
That said, more power to them. It's their body, their money, and their responsibility to proceed carefully.
