Okay so as soon as I saw this mod I knew I was going to get it over the other mods I had in mind. The fact that it can currently support 3 different chipsets in one module (box) is the best option for me. I've decided to wait for the first run to be produced, and wait for people to start getting their products before ordering mine. Which gives me time to make the decision of the SX or DNA version.
I'm torn between the two. I know the sx350j has been tried and true, but the DNA 200 looks to be a game changing chip. I keep thinking:
1. If I get the DNA version, I get the LiPo cells included in the mod, but there hasn't been much visual information on this chip for me to see so far besides a few different clips of it from the Opus 200, a picture of the HB DNA200, which I literally came across this morning:
and the silver DNA200 mod Rip Trippers teased everyone with only a glimpse of it. Another pro of the chip is that it runs off of a true 12.6v current with the 3S LiPo configuration and a 55 amp rating.
I have seen very little of the chip and while it can be a game changer, I'm still unsure considering Evolv's previous problems with the DNA40 TC chips in the past.
2. If I order the SX version, I know exactly what I'm getting. I know how to work a YiHi chip's interface (IPV mini, IPV4, Sigelei 100 & 50w), and i know way more about the sx350j considering I did my research, have used my buddy's SX mini M class for a week to see what it was like, and there's ample amounts of info on the net. And buying another couple pairs of vtc4's is cheap.
However, if I order the SX, and when (not if, I know I'll buy it, unless the Ares is a better chip) I want to buy the DNA kit, I fear it'll cost more because of the LiPo cells that come with the kit.
So it pretty much comes down to whether I want to step into the unknown with the DNA or get something I already know in the SX at the jump.
If anybody could give me a few reasons to go in one direction or the other (without bias towards Evolv or YiHi) I'd really appreciate it.
And side note: they have made a mod so far, it's not only a rendering. SX version:
