I think this mod deserves it's own thread. I know I can't be the only one following all the updates on this new mod. It's designed to be future proof. It's modular, aesthetically and electronically, so you can upgrade chips with plug-n-play build kits, and change the panel colors/materials/styling. You can also reconfigure the interior, swapping to a LiPo battery or a squonker single-18650 conversion or dual 18650. If you buy the Whiteout SX, you don't even get the open source chip, you get Yihi's SX350J. The Whiteout has something for everybody. I think at some point it will even have dna 40. There is a few updateds on the box at Reddit.

Yup it looks amazing. I'm in the "first 500" who can pre-order it, and I've been talking to them on FB about trying to help with the project in some way.

Apparently SmogGB will be added to this pre-order as well as a discount that is given to those whom managed to become the early adopters. The Announcement You've All Been Waiting For! : SmogGB is an announcement he has stated that some time soon it will show up on the GB site. I'm guessing either this week or next week, either way I don't think it will be sooner then those who did make it in.

I can't wait for this to come out. I wish I knew about it sooner. I plan on coding wire presets similar to the 'nickel purity' functionality. If it doesn't already have it prepackaged, I'd love to just let them have it.

I'm sorry, but what good is having four buttons when all of the chips only accept three button inputs?

For now. The Ares is open source so the extra button may come in handy. I'm in the first release and pumped as hell.

I haven't seen any firm numbers yet but the SX and DNA 200 will most likely be under $200, perhaps $180? The ares chip will be cheaper possibly under $150. This is just from reading the updates on Reddit so......
I believe final numbers will be available on July 1st.

I hope you're right! I can't see a box this sophisticated at anything under $250, especially with an Evolv chip in it. The SX might be a little cheaper than that. I can definitely believe the Ares chipset being a little cheaper, though.

So the DNA200 version comes with the required LIPO battery.

Wonder if you will be able to get the LIPO with the YiHi and Ares configurations as well?
