So glad I held off on this as would have taken most of my vaping hardware budget but I hope any members here who showed faith and preordered can get their cash back and for those still in I'd seriously grab your money back now. If they actually do ever get mods made and out and about then support them and buy one then, pretty sad business for a lot of people and at this time of the year as well.

I would guess that we'll never know the truth of the various versions of what's going on but it's not really surprising. The vaping industry has grown at such a rate that it's been a bit like the original California gold rush and all kinds of folks can be attracted to that for a quick buck.

I'm an early preorder guy and on the hope that the CMT folks are the good guys I'm not going to cancel my order. If they are in fact the "good guys" they are going to get hurt big time by what's going on and I don't feel like piling on. If they are the "bad guys" then I expect that trying to cancel now wouldn't get me my money back.

My guess is that CMT are good hearted but very naive folks who have a dream but not enough business experience to pull off those dreams without stepping in it big time. If that's the case maybe they will learn from the experience and go on to create a successful business. If that is not the case then they'll have lost any personal money they invested and can go job hunting with all the rest of the folks who didn't know how to start a business.

Apparently they aren't silent no more. They got their first mod in finally. They seem like Innokin, a day late and a $1 short. The final production unit looks cheap and has cosmetic issues already. I attached a pic of the USB. It is pretty bad for a $200 mod. Battery for DNA 200 is only a1100 Lipo which is a bummer. The buttons even look and feel like they would be cheap. What a huge let down.

This is why I am currently vaping on a Reuleaux, which of course has its own problems (but have been fixed). I got my Rolo for $130 with batteries (LG HE4's) over Black Friday weekend & did the screen fix, so it's a really cheap DNA mod. It gives me the time to wait out the CloudMaker problems and what looks like cheapness, and get the SX350J v2 version when YiHi releases the chipset outside of their own ugly SX Mini ML class - that HUGE SX Mini logo on the back is a major reason why I wouldn't buy the mod - also because they didn't change the light saber battery tube for series. Hopefully somewhere in the future CMT will release a nice SX350J v2 version of the whiteout because I truly love the idea of a modular box.

Edit: the buttons are something I could look past on the DNA version. I could probably find some buttons over at radio shack that are the same dimensions and pop them in if I really wanted. As long as the internal construction is solid, and it doesn't look like its not - it's still a mod I would pick up. After people get theirs in the first run & maybe second run.

I was on the first batch pre-order, but cancelled it today. I don't like the screws that they have added on the panels compared to the rendering they have on their website. It kills the clean looks. Also don't like how the usb connection doesn't line up nicely. Plus I don't like their back handed apologizes they have been posting on their blog page on their website and on reddit. They seem to have meant well initially, but got way over their heads on this project. On top of all that there is the whole smog debacle. They were the ones telling people to do pre-orders through smog because they didn't have this stuff together yet to accept pre-orders at the time. They have ...... off a lot of people with their delays and attitude. This is not how you run a new business. I have a dryad from MMVapors currently being shipped to me as we speak. Those guys have great customer service and really care about their customers. Not like a bunch of millennial age kids who have no life, business, or manufacturing experience.

Greeneagle, you will getting a really nice mod from MMVapors. Jim and his people at MMVapors are great and care about their customers as you say. I have two of their Poldiacs, a Nanos and an OverOne rda. I wish they still made the Poldiacs as I think they are almost a piece of artwork.

How did you managed to have the pre-order cancelled and refunded?

First I called and left a message, no response. Then sent message via their website, then I emailed them. In the email I told them I was not happy with the looks because of the screws and looked different from the rendering. They first wanted to make sure I saw the pictures from Tuesday. I told them I did and wanted to cancel my order with a refund, but understood there would be a credit card processing fee . Got an email shortly agrarian confirming the cancellation and my cc would get the refund up to 5 or 6 days.

I've been blown away with the whole process in the best possible way. Miriam is such a sweetheart. I love her humor. I'm so excited about getting my new mod. Can't wait for it to arrive. How do you like the overone rda? is it a flavor atty? It looks real interesting. I'm into flavor over clouds. I just got the odin v2 and love it, so i really don't need another rda right now. But after my experience with them might have to spring on the overone rda if a flavor atty.

If anybody uses Facebook and is interested in a group for Whiteout users, I created one for everybody. I searched and did not see any other pages or groups for the Whiteout except the one page CMT has. It's a small group yet (around 70 members) but it will have themes, other DNA 200 EScribe files, SX and Whiteout OS information. The members are free to submit any files they wish to share with others. A Google drive was made to get the files away from the Facebook section (would get way too confusing).
I prefer forums even though I've hardly been active here except for viewing since last October but for those on Facebook maybe something to look at.

Edit: The forum I guess does not like url's. Just search for Cloudmaker Whiteout Users Group and that should lead you in the right place.
