Does anyone know how to remove the existing door magnets?
I have not tried this so take from it what you will. I was thinking about changing mine to some I have that are stronger and decided to use a soldering iron to heat the magnet, which would heat the adhesive holding them in place. Once the adhesive was sufficiently softened, I was going to use an Exacto blade or a sharp pick to lever them out. I don't think there'd be enough magnetic strength, but you could try using another strong magnet to pull it free.

Remember heat destroys a magnet so if you do this there's a good chance the magnet that's heated will be a lot weaker than it was to begin with.

Good luck.

ETA If you just want to do the door mags, same thing as above, except it'll be a lot easier.

If we are talking about the door magnets, they can be heated and pulled out. This is easier because there's a portion of the magnets that extends out of the hole it is sitting in, and there are no other components in the vicinity- this exposed portion of the magnet can be gripped with a hemostat or some other tool. In any event, I would not recommend drilling them.

I hadn't looked until just now (my plastic cover hadn't been removed until just now), but the same procedure could be used on the magnets in the body of the mod. The magnets extend out of the hole or pocket they are located in, so after heating to soften the adhesive they should pull right out. Just be careful with whatever heat source is used, that you don't damage anything in the process (I wouldn't use an open flame on the body magnets). And obviously remove the battery first! lol But the door magnets should be easy to remove, relatively speaking.

I don't know what they used for the finish, but only use as much heat as is absolutely necessary. You could use a wet sponge or washcloth to lay the door on while heating the magnets to help keep the finish cool. The adhesive looks like JB Weld, and is almost certainly an epoxy of some sort.

It seems peculiar that they supply 4 replacement magnets with the kit if there is no easy way to replace them. It also implicitly implies that they are likely to fail? I decided to buy some additional strong neodymium disk magnets which I'm going to just glue in in addition to the existing ones. Even with the silicone sleeve, its still clicking and it's bugging the hell out of me. I even considered using Velcro...

Hey guys. I just got my first, regulated, box mod from Cloupor today. I'll take this moment to give a quick observation and ask some questions I have regarding this unit. I am currently using a kayfun Lite Plus V2 on the Cloupor Mini. I used to have my KFL+V2 on a Turtleship V1 tube mod. My Kayfun build ranges from 1.3~1.8 ohms set to 18-20 watts.

Observation:
1.
I did not know a regulated, box mod would hit like this. I feel like I've been living under a shell. Well, I have been, my Turtleship clone didn't provide me this thick of a vapor experience.
2. Holy cow, flavor! The vape produced at 18 watts is so warm and flavorful.
3. Vapor production is consistent and thick!
4. The unit is solid and sleek. I always veered from box mods because I thought they tended to look a bit clumsy, but this box is aesthetically pleasing as well.
5. I feel like ever since I adjust the wattage, the airflow has opened up as well. I am going to make a theory that the juice burns quicker producer more airflow.

Questions/Concerns:
1.
How safe is the Cloupor Mini? I bought it disregarding the many posts about the unit's circuitry melting. I am currently using Samsung INR1865. I always charge the battery independently. My builds always remain above 1 ohm and my wattage always stays under 20 watts. I've done the "15 second" trick as well.
2. I pull out the battery when I sleep at night for a peace of mind. However, I've always found myself carrying the battery out of the mod when I have my device in my bag or in my pocket which I find rather annoying. I've been taking the battery out of the Cloupor even if I leave it unattended for a short period of time; annoying!
3. What are some other precautions I can take with this device? Am I less likely to fry the circuitry if I don't subohm and keep the wattage at right around 18?

Thanks for the read guys!

The whole Cloupor Mini melting issue was, as far as I can tell, confined to a few units from a particular early run (VIP [HASHTAG]#0002xxx[/HASHTAG] IIRC). Since then- and despite anecdotal "evidence" to the contrary- there have been no more problems w/the Mini than any other Chinese-sourced mod. It has proven to be a good, reliable mod that will give you a lot of bang for the buck.

FWIW I do not use the onboard charger on ANY device I own, including the Mini. Not because I'm afraid of a problem but because I swap out the low battery for a fresh one to keep vaping.

QFT. Only I use the onboard charging port, I swap out the entire mini for another mini. Lol

Initially I always swapped out batteries on my four Cloupor Minis. Over some months, that began to get old. I never let batteries run down more than 1/3 on any of my regulated boxes, so that meant frequent, sometimes twice daily swaps. When I got silicon sleeves for all four Minis, the battery swap ritual became less convenient. So, I've switched to USB recharging.

I've had no issues with either method.

I came to realize that the issues I am have with the door being loose are down to the design, not the strength of the magnets. Magnets are will resist longitudinal forces well, but a weak at resisting lateral forces. The door is not blocked at the bottom, and this shearing action not well resisted leading to clickety clack. In my opinion there is no need to be able to slide the door off. Lifting it off is sufficient and the design of many other magnetic door mods.
I added another three neodymium magnets which has helped, but I'm done trying to remedy this design flaw.
Next mission is to source a shorter 510 screw so all my attys fit flush.

I like this device and use it everyday, but I wouldn't buy another and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I'm thinking another mod is your only hope.
The 2 magnet design works for most without issue. You may have a worse than normal fit of the case/back.
As to the screw, have you noticed how small it is? It threads fully down to. About the only way to make it shorter is grind off most of the head itself. Better grind a slot in it to make adjustments afterward.

*note - ATM I have one good arm.(Work injury) The slide down makes it much simpler for me to one hand a battery change.;)

@sonicbomb - I had the exact same problem with my second ordered unit (a black one, but color wasn't the issue as others had the ”thing” with the silver ones too). The mini I kept is an absolute joy to use.
You might want to look back in this thread at the various fixes many of us found for the ”jiggly cover” issue. It's obviously not the magnets, but bad machining and/or bad pairing between parts from different subcontractors.

@ricks - I love the looks of the toy, but since I'm a VV fan, ”VW only” is a no deal for me. Regardless, I was inclining towards this Kamry, but alas! it was discontinued for some reason :)
