Kanger protanks

I think that Kanger has stopped making the protank 2's. I use them every day. Just checked E-bay and not many for sale. Looks like the nano will replace the pt 2's.I just went to kangers web site and the PT-2's are gone ?? I do have enough parts to rebuild coils for ever .
I still have one in the box that I never opened. Was an extra. I'm with you on the coil rebuilding for them. Still use a mini protank 2 as my daily work vape. Just ordered some more replacement glass sections from fasttech. I seem to break about one a month.

SS if you really like the protank you should just get the aero tank. I have 1 my wife has 2. Coil build identical to protanks only difference is I put a flavor wick on top because there is a larger gap in between where center post pushes into coil base. If I don't add extra wick it floods.

Jay I have 3 PT-2's and all in great shape. I have 3 air valves so really about same as aero's. I have unlimited coils. I bought 25 gromets and used 1 so far. Plenty of cotton and wire. Just pointing out that I think the PT-2's are on the way out. My wife just finished chemo and her taste is shot and will try the nano's when the price comes down. I make her juice with extra flavor so she can taste. She took over the mini 2 weeks ago and uses her isticks for away from home. The mini is too nice to loose when out and about........

Hey 1st sorry to hear about your wife. I hope she is OK.
Where did you purchase the gromets from? I could use some myself.
At first I wasn't taking my mini out either but I've been on a staycation for 2 weeks so it has gone on a couple short trips with me. When I return to work Tuesday I will leave it at home and carry the stick with me again.
Fortunately for me the wife likes her istick better than my mini.

Thanks she is doing great. Now in remission. I found 50 grommets for 10 buckks. Here is 10 but expensive.
Silicone Insulator Grommet Seal 10 Piece for Protank Evod Coil O Rings | eBay
I will keep looking for where I got the 50 pack. I have a bunch of new t3s coils to tear apart if I need more .

Right behind you...
Seems like units in batch 0002 (first four digits of the serial number on your VIP card) could have issues due to some faulty ICs.

To test to see if you have a bad IC, fire it with an atty for 15 seconds. If it's good, it'll do all 15 seconds and then cut off as designed. If it's potentially bad, it will give a "Too Hot" message before the shut off.

From a post on the AAEC forum:

After u guys feedback to us, all our engineers, suppliers and the whole R&D team got into deep research of the mini issues.
Finally ,we got an answer. There were some IC elements(wrong IC components) mixed into the rights ones. Then It leads to the unexpected problems.
Fortunately, the probability is very low(about two over one thousand).

To turn on the mod(with atomizer attached),then press the fire button for 15 seconds.
It becomes very hot or displaying "too hot" at once, then pls contact me.
Thanks.

Warm regards,
Fiona

Here's a new article discussing Cloupor's findings....same info with that site's opinion/conclusion.

Pretty sure mine, that is here, is good to go. I have had it so hot on a weird acting Orchid tank, yo could larely tough the mod or tank.
Never missed a beat. No indications of internal heat what so ever.Pretty sure I'm past the cook off stage.

Black one needs to arrive so I can verify it is good to go.
