Sorry Sam. Thats a new one on me. Maybe someone will come along with an answer for you, but just having received it, I'd be packin' that bad boy up to send in for a replacement.
I plugged in a fresh VTC5. Indicator showed full battery. Vaped on it for 2 hours...the indicator still showed full battery.
Mine did that when I first got it and tried using the onboard USB. Don't use the USB. Should clear up and register properly if you stop using it.
I do hope you have an external charger.
EDIT: I should mention mine is now four months old and used a lot. I just don't use the USB port.
When you say "it cuts out after a couple of seconds @ 30w", can you elaborate? Do you get a "too hot" error message, or does the screen just go blank, or what- because what you've briefly described is NOT normal. First thing I would do is be sure the atty connections are tight and the 510 pin adjusted correctly and is clean and dry of any juice that might have gotten on it. Be sure the battery is good and is making good contact and there's no dirt, juice or corrosion on the terminals. Be sure the 510 is still tight in the case (I'm not sure if it uses the 510 for a ground path or not). You can't go inside to check grounds and solder joints w/o breaking the seal and voiding the warranty so this is about as far as you can go.
BTW, while the '15 seconds/30 watts' test really isn't a definitive test, a properly working unit should be able to "pass" this test w/o any warnings or having it shut down. So if you want to be absolutely sure there will be no damage done by a possibly faulty mod, I'd recommend parking it w/battery removed until I could get an RMA from FT to return it.
Really none burst into flames. It is only the 0002 batch that had a problem. I never worry about mine. It's in a metal box with very little to burn. You can remove the battery when not using but I worry more about being struck by lighting than a mini burning. Check what batch you have . The serial # is on the blue card. That batch is long gone. I haven't heard of any other bad batches...........

There was an overheat/melt down issue on a very limited number of units in Batch 0002xx ONLY and the issue was resolved.
The Power test is:
Set mod to 30w
Attach a device with decent coil and No Wick for best testing - 28ga. is a good recommendation.
Fire the device and HOLD until cutout - 15 seconds.
If the Device does NOT read To Hot - it is good to go.
Look at the Card you received with the unit. That is the Batch/serial/Warranty card. First whole numbers are the Batch build.
Mine are:
0002xx
0006xx
I run Both of mine daily for 6-8hrs Each always at 30w.
You chose an excellent battery and should be in good shape.
Enjoy your Mod!

I've had mine just over a week or so now and I must say I really like it. It's my first mini and my first mod capable of over q5 watts, so my experience is limited. I like it. Easy to use, very readable LED, and it fits great into my pocket, unlike my Vamo 5. I wasn't really inclined to get a box, especially a mini, now I can't see going away from them. It's great. If I run into any real problems or complaints I will definitely post them, so far so good.

Are you sure you have a real VTC5 ? On E-Bay most are knock offs. That may not be the issue just asking. Like croak said don't use the usb to charge.....
He said "I can't seem to test mine because it cuts out after a couple of seconds @ 30w. Is that bad btw?" And I submit that YES, this IS 'bad'. Bad, in that a properly functioning Cloupor Mini should NOT "cut out after a couple of seconds @ 30w". He needs to find out why this is happening. Might be nothing but a poorly done build. Or it could be a failure waiting to happen. The point is, at this juncture we here cannot say what the issue is and to simply ignore and/or minimize it is not the way to go about things.Nuff Said!

Where and when did you order it? I'm still waiting for mine from GB. I ordered mine on March 30.
A new version of silicon sleeves with identical "Cloupor Mini" logos:

lol I ordered a single 510/410 adapter from FT on 3-7-15, just got it yesterday. Made another order from FT on 3-11 and again 3-25 that aren't here yet. This is often 'normal' when no expedited shipping options are bought, and can vary depending on supplies on hand.Did they have to mine the material to make it? Wow. Due to your experience I wont ever be giving GB any business.

I'm willing to wait for some things. Like the adapter- it's being used to attach a modded Kanger base to the 'VOLTS' side of my ohm/volt meter so as to read battery voltages. I have a Fluke 77 but this is a lot smaller and fits on my build desk better. Point being, it was not a critical buy. On the other hand, like if I need wire right way I go w/Lightening Vapes, they ship VERY quickly.Thats why I usually order stuff off of Ebay. Fast shipping but for the prices on FT, its worth some waiting. I have a clouper, Istick 20, Vamo and Tesla II, couple Spinner Vision II, over 30 ego's, and an Istick50 plus the other clouper coming so Im not hurting or in a rush for it.
