Noted, yea already did that just posting to see if anyone encountered the same issue and manage to fix it.
Remove the battery and check between the center pin and the outer ring of the 510 for a short. If the 510 spun in the enclosure it could have shorted the ground to the center pin lead. Mine reads less than 0.5 ohm. Remove the battery before checking it..

Simple, Light weight, secure carry solution:

Thank you! Not bad, but not leather, not unique, not ”made by me”. I'm a hands-on guy and I suspect most of us are. Granted, there are also many who can't be bothered to even wrap a coil. :D

More on-topic: the silver one gives me the ”Battery Full” message, the dark one doesn't. Definitely a different chip or firmware (0008 series - black; 0011 - silver). But Blacky also passed the 30 W/15 s test, so it's not really an issue.

Everything I have that breaks gets Hands on.......:laugh:.........Recently I can barely afford to PAY attention.

Yes, Firmware update for newer units. P4Y posted on this about a week ago. Still the SX130 chip.

Thanks all for the response.

@cobalt327:
Can‘t see anything without removing the plastic plate that covers the chip.
The check I'm talking about is made externally. One ohm meter lead to the center pin of the 510, the other lead to the threaded outer ring.

Member speed4mee posted a photo that shows the Mini's guts including the 510 fairly well. The ground looks to be soldered to the outer ring of the 510- which is normally a good thing. But if an atty were to be over tightened (or if the 510 was loose to start with) the 510 assembly could spin in the case and if that happens, a short could easily happen.

I'm guessing the "Battery Full" message is seen when charging through the USB?
