Siapaya reported in the original thread it was a 2 series, & passed the 15 second test. Read some other reports this 15 sec test is worthless, a false sense of security.
Dont be.
Mine just caught fire last Friday.

See it with my own eyes it get burned, that's why I pour a glass of water on it, and it even still do some crackle-crackle after that.
Clouper makes a reference on their product web page, and is hosting a 'review' on their website from some UK b&m that mentions it several times. Further, their FB page, linked on their website, has quite a few glossy marketing mentions of 'USB passthru available', distinguishing it from the Istick.* Cloupor makes one reference to < Passthrough Available> on their advertizing page, with no comments on proper usage.

It seems the only mentions of not using usb passthru is various user forums....basic opinion imho. Nothing from Clouper. And to my knowledge, they never specifically said what was the core issue, a real shame. I for 1 would like to know if the meltdowns were due to the usb charging circuitry.
Will I use usb passhru on my mini-clouper? Too much speculation at this point to do so unfortunately. [emoji17]
When at home, fully agree. I wanted passthru for that 1-1.5 hour drive home.... Battery is usually just about gone, car has a usb port in it. I have several juices at my office, didn't want to keep lugging batteries back & forth.I really don't understand why somebody would need pass through ? I have 4 18650 battery's and just pop in a fresh one when I see the battery at half full. The whole point of a mod like the mini is the ability of an easy battery change. A mod like the Istick you need 2 so you can charge one and vape on the other.

Have you considered Passthrough in the office to maintain battery for the trip Home?
I believe most experienced Vapors looking for higher power Mods actually are not concerned with passthrough. This leave a minority and those less experienced jumping on a feature designed for much lower power consumption. This is a poor selling tactic since no disclosure.
The problem is perpetuated by Sellers claiming features in the same manor or simply making untrue statements.
The DNA passthrough has been a topic of much debate.
This Mod uses a DNA cloned chip design.
Then I must be in the minority, an experienced vapor that has no interest in hi power mods, but passthru for my lower power flavor builds [emoji1]
My 1.8Ω kayfun is pulling 2.6amps at 4.7volts & 12.5w, so a 2.1 amp usb passthru would be quite acceptable in a pinch. You're absolutely correct, be foolish to run sub ohm/hi power on a passthru! Not too sure this is a poor selling tactic by not disclosing it, actually, I'm sure many have been sold on this feature that don't understand good old ohms law [emoji1]
Well, meant ohms law in just basic figuring amps & power needs. A 0.5Ω coil draws over 8amps. Most usb charging circuits are maxed either at 2.1a or .5a, 4 or 16 times less than needed .....just ain't gonna work [emoji1]
Daughter has a friend with a hi end car audio system .... Complete with a dedicated battery and large caps for powering his subs. EXACTLY what's needed for a passthru for your Orchid, or any sub ohm multi-coil atomizer for car travel! [emoji12] [emoji1]
Really like this little box.
Not quite used to the delay from sleep but don't really care about it either. The size is brilliant.
I took a chance on a pre-order from gearbest because of the Mini's diminutive size, magnetic battery door, and a low price ($29.99 shipped). Over the month that I've used mine, it's performed flawlessly. While I'm not enthralled with the 0.8 second firing delay when the display screen is "awakening from sleep," I can live with that, and I love the fact that swapping out the 18650 takes literally 15 seconds from start to finish. Build quality seems solid, and wattage regulation is accurate.
I'm considering the Clouper Mini because, according to the http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...40761-little-itty-bitty-mods-under-100-a.html thread, it's the smallest mini mod with a replaceable 18650.
But...I'm hesitating because of its "firing delay from Sleep".
Is this firing delay something one gets "used to" over time (or even "forget about")...or is it a real PIA that you just "put up with" because you like the other qualities (size, magnetic cover) of the CM???
Here's a thought:
Get a real-deal reputable battery with a higher mah rating that is still safely above the CPmini's max input current spec of 8 Amps and you'll have a device that will last a lot longer between battery swaps.
For devices like the IPVmini that spec 13 amps max input, there is currently no battery on the market that has a higher than 2500 mah and a Continuous Discharge rating to match the device (eg, ~15amps), so we're stuck using slightly over-powered low-capacity batteries for it, like HE4's and 25r's.
Not so with this here CPmini. The Panasonic NCR 18650BD is 10Amp and 3200mah and will last me a good two days of pretty heavy vaping (in a two device rotation). And so far, after those two days, it's still reading ~3.8V when I finally pull the BD out to recharge. The upshot is that with this battery I never feel the need to use passthrough (or usb charging for that matter) even on a long car trip. However, if i really wanted passthrough, I think it best not rely on any battery device's supposed capability and simply purchase a decent dedicated 12V passthrough system thingy (like that big Innokin round deal).
I think it has more to do with vaping habits.
I go through (3) 2500mah a day on the mini using a RDA, so the Pani will not gain me extra days.
IPV mini's higher input is simply overhead and has nothing to do with output as the mod is limited to 30w/.5ohm = 7.8approx. amps
