Where did you get it?

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Discount Vapers :)

Cobra - Rebuildable Atomizer - Metal Tank with Clear Windows!

Can you provide some details? How large is the wick hole, and how well does the top cap stay on? Perhaps do a little video?

id be glad to. the wick hole appears to be 3mm. i plan to test it with a drill bit once i need to rebuild the coil, so i'll have the exact measurement in inches soon. but it came with the wick and coil installed, and its actualy performing surprisingly well. i know i can build a better wick and coil but for now im liking it as-is.

the top cap stays on well. i just did a litte "suspension" test: i held the unit by just the top cap alone and my PV did not come crashing down onto my desk. and my PV is a provari, so theres a decent amount of weight being applied. regular sized battery, no extention cap. however, im confident that if i did own the larger configuration it would hold as well.

the top cap does however raise approx 1mm when i do the hold/"suspension" test. being a bit OCD, id like to alleviate this. im hoping a quick trip to Lowes could score me a slightly fatter o-ring. then again, maybe i dont want to do that becasue if its super tight, i might scrape some oxidization off the wick or disrupt my coil if i execute a less-than-perfect top cap pry-off.

i'll explore the video option. ive never made a video but i did just get a new cell phone, theres gotta be a video camera in here somewhere..

Thanks for the reply. Definitely report back on the true wick hole size. I contacted Discount Vapers and they claim it's a 2mm hole, it looks bigger in the pictures though. A 2mm hole would be a deal braker for me, sadly.

Also, if you could measure the distance between the edge of the wick hole and the outter edge of the top section. If there's room to bore out the hole it may still be worth it for that prefect 18mm fit on the Provari.

I'm listening for the mail man right now to deliver mine. We got a heavy snow yesterday I hope the postman still abides by "Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail shall keep the postmen from their appointed rounds" lol. I honestly doubt the mailman will make it. There's no way I can get my car out of my driveway. Let alone down my road. Maybe by next Monday the plows will come through.

i was surprised when my mailman delivered in a foot or so of snow 2 years ago. i was told that if my mailbox had a path dug out to it, that greatly helps your chances of gettign your mail. sounds simple, but i hadnt drawn the connection without the advice.
i hope you get your chobra soon, its pretty dang sweet! :)

I got mine, and sent it back. Really poor quality, tiny wick hole, and the screw that holds the negative connection was so small I couldn't get it to lock the wire into place. It's a shame, because it did look very nice on the provari. Now I'm waiting on an Odysseus clone.

oh man thats too bad. what would happen if you used a smaller wick?
the wicking on mine needs improvement from the stock wick setup, but i thought i could alleviate that. thats what im hoping anyway. we will see today. i think ive finally got some time to work on it.

I had the same issue with the negative screw. had a friend tap it out for a larger / better screw. Need to play with the wicking also.

i just threw some 28awg in mine. wowie zowie!
the wick is definitely not keeping up though. the stock wick was pretty dense, so i unrolled it and cut it in half. its wicking better, but not great. what ive noticed is the wick isnt holding liquid. its acting like a straw, once i tip the pv, liquid comes dripping out the top of the wick into the top cap. its about time i stop being lazy and just oxidize some of the #500 ive got. once i slap a 500 wick in there i expect great results.
and like ben said, this thing looks killr on top of a provari. perfect diameter. i got one of these drip tips to put on it. its like an alien spaceship delivering me vape :D

welp, the #500 is working out perfect. so happy with this setup. :vapor:
i did have a slight leak happening from the bottom of the tank. but i remedied that right quick by flipping the plastic tank tube. the top end was beveled slightly differently (more uniform) and i also added another layer of protection by wrapping 1 revoultion of plumbers teflon tape around the o-ring. now its watertight as a ducks bunghole. its been over 24hrs and not a drop. nomally id have several drops in that amount of time.

but anyway the mesh that comes with it is a mystery. its 325 maybe? could be 400 but i doubt it. likely 325 or maybe lower.

my top cap o-ring is totally fine. not too tight, not too loose. but picking up one of those sets could be a really helpful move in general. i might get one just to have.

one thing to condiser on the cobra clone is the size of the nut on the neg terminal. its got a small head and the thicker gague wire like the 28 awg i have barely fits under it. im thinking of looking into bigger nuts that would fit that terminal.
