It's amazing what our REOs are capable of.

Don't try this at home, kids [without an encyclopedic knowledge of APV safety protocols and operations].

  • 24G Boom Hotwires by Chadster
  • 5/6 wrap dual/parallel coil
  • 3/32" ID
  • 0.08Ω

Seriously. Don't try this at home.

wow it's beautiful with the coil, but going that low has never been my preference.

You and most of the world, son. You're a good boy. Don't change.

In all seriousness, this is really just a cloud chasing build. Certainly not my all day vape. My all day coils are much higher, usually around 0.14Ω. Just because our REOs are capable of being abused does not mean they should be!

Edit: Also, might be just me, but nickel-based wire bothers my throat with too much use. I much prefer Kanthal A1, a.k.a. the Gold Standard.

No clue. Used a 26g core, 30ga around. I also used a 7/64 bit tho

Interesting. You've actually got a ohm/ft resistance higher than using 26g alone. I thought the general rule was that you'd end up with resistance at or lower than the core wire used. No hands on experience with claptons myself, tho.

unsure

Dang Gil, that thing looks like it belongs on the backside of the refrigerator... Question is though, how does it vape and why the :censored: is it not on a REO?

I test all my coils on that old Vamo to check Ωs and different voltage to see how long it takes to glow.

That makes sense. Most Claptons (at least the ones I've seen) have a 20G-22G core, sometimes dual-core (side-by-side wire as core).

Same Papa, though, like I said, most people use 20G/32G or something to that effect. I could see it happening with 26G/30G. Look at all those loops. There is A LOT more secondary wire required to wrap around 20G than there is around 26G. Guess it evens out, assuming his ohm reading is accurate.
