I'm trying coke zero as we speak. Hey, what about Hydrogen Peroxide?
I have tried the Hydrogen peroxide...didn't do a thing.

Pete--Mine have been soaking for about 10 hours now. I have one that I took out of the casing and the rest are intact--going to take a look and put some power to them-- I will report back my findings.--Thanks--Sun
Think I will try some denture cleaner . Sound's like just the thing..
Yeah...I'm going to get an ultrasonic cleaner, too.
Not sure what I'll use for cleaning fluid yet (it will have to be something relatively inert and I think the agitation of ultrasonic vibration would make cola go supernova) but I'll figure something out.
New information.
I have been reminded that there is a fairly significant level of phosphoric acid in cola. I knew this but didn't even consider it because, for some reason, I was tunnel-visioned on carbonic acid. Now...this particular acid is actually stronger than carbonic acid AND more adept at breaking up oils and biological materials so it's probably this that's doing the trick.
