Well I figured since PlantLvr asked how to cover an air hole, I figured we could add other information (and hopefully get a sticky) for tips, tricks and information for newbies here.

As Plark stated in PlantLvr's post, and I forgot where I read it first, but Plark reminded me of it. If you have a airy draw, take a toothpick and snap the tip of it in the hole on the threads.

Another idea Plark reminded me of what I did, was cut a condom bottom off, and poke one hole in it with a needle, slide it over the threaded area and screw the carto on.

Tips for refilling, I fill a condom up and put the screwed end inside and slowly push down.

Anyone feel free to add to this, and lets try to get as many tips and tricks on here, so newbies can have something to go by.

I don't mean this to be obnoxious at all, but why does a 25 dollar battery need all this fiddling?

Good question. Thank heavens (for some of us) that the problems seem confined to the autos only, and not the manuals.

Unfortunately, that problem seems confined to autos only, and not the manuals

I agree and eluded to this in a different thread. But what concerns me the most, and should concern all the auto lovers, I've been told by a V4L employee that the plan is to switch all autos to the sealed design. I think that would be a mistake. Not only do they not work as well as the king diamond, there is another potential problem. Which is how to clean the holes on the battery post. These will get dirty and clog, but there's no way to get a pin in to clean them.

:(

That is a big issue. I've wondered how you can clean these batts (and gen 2 sealed) without shoving more and more crap into those tiny holes over time, let alone getting the tiny hole clear in the first place

Maybe V4L should come up with a detachable battery post that can be tossed in an ETOH bath, dryed, then re attached. Now that would be some ISHT!

Well said. I have a standard eGo 650 I use at home, and bought the VT ultimate starter kit to have a more pocketable option. I was thinking maybe I had a defective one, but after read-lurking a bit, and hearing about all the toothpicks, tape, twisting, teensy holes, etc, I guess it is what it is.

I'm now counting this purchase as my n00b mistake that most people seem to make when starting. It's a shame, because I really like the V4L fruit carts, especially the watermelon. :(
