Hmm I will have to reread it. The big problem is batteries, that is why the tubes need venting. Use of wrong batteries is a disaster, we have to get the word out. bnrk
Roly, I "like",
But couldn't that have included a statement to the effect that, Use of improper batteries in some mods has been known to cause in a violent explosion, resulting in property damage and personal injury?
But why not provide them with that information prior to purchase????
What does a nicostick have to do with this discussion? I don't think a single batt mod has been an issue except for the ego style batts that appear to have been charged using the wrong charger.
You are absolutely right! You can't fix stupid, but you can give them a chance.i agree thats why i said earlier that it should be everywhere. on this website on their sites inside the mod hell even engrave it on the side of the mod if its gonna save someones life. but one thing we can not do is force people to read it or follow it. it just human nature that some people are not going to listen or understand. And we can not make people come on this site and research it. So it has to be the vendors that step up and take action.

ETA: So do they assume that all of their customers are stupid or that the ones that are just don't matter?

I agree. I am glad I watched the second 30 minutes of that vid.... I found this thread last night. This is in reply to your statement about single batt. I think it was like that video I just, very patiently watched.

I saw that thread too. it was kind of vague. "All I remember was...." I've had nights like that.I agree. I am glad I watched the second 30 minutes of that vid.... I found this thread last night. I shorted a 510 manual once with probes and it went "pfftt", with a hint of smoke and odor, but you never know how abused some batteries are.
I didn't know there was a 2nd video, I barely made it through the first one and I guess I completely missed the point, unless it was the sloppy solder job and possibility of cooking the silicone insulator.
Well, the root cause of "exploding mods" is batteries going into thermal runaway - and, according to information we already have, it's usually just one of the pair that goes, taking the other one after it due to transferred heat. What you watched is just part of what we're doing to investigate the issue...What does a nicostick have to do with this discussion? It wasn't loading so I could not watch the video, but yes all batts can be a problem. What we are using in ecigs is batteries that need to be used with care. Actually I just had an incident with a AW IMR that came off the charger. I need to email Provari/Provape, as it came with the mini I just got and it is only 1 week of use. The bottom of the batt has a circle discolored like it over heated. I had hubby look at it and he said the bottom edges are slightly flared do not use it. It did come off the charger warm yesterday and the charger, Tenergy was also warm. Not hot, but was warmer than I remembered. I also found that one of my protected AW batts has a split in the cover material at bottom. Both of theses batts will not be used. You really have to check everything so carefully, even the safer IMR batts and protected ones. Treat all these batts like something can go wrong. bnrk
I'm kind of skeptical about the NJOY story. I'm thinking by her description of the blast, at least singed hair and eyelashes, along with the timing after the announcement of this law suit. But I have also tried opening some packaging that I thought was going to require breaking the product to get it out of the package. I still find it questionable.Well, the root cause of "exploding mods" is batteries going into thermal runaway - and, according to information we already have, it's usually just one of the pair that goes, taking the other one after it due to transferred heat. Thank you for that. I keep saying it, but few listen. The biggest issue with singling out stacked batteries -- people are going to use a single battery device and think they are 100% safe.
Not only that, but Roly states that there has never been a reported case of a single cell mod going thermal. I believe its in the mod or batt safety posts.
...I haven't heard anyone claim the post is false, made up.
