Doesn't your husband have more important things to worry about lol, sounds like a real pita , give him the book "Don't sweat the small stuff" .

There is no recommend anything , you vape whenever you dang feel like it , i think the overwhelming majority vape more often than they smoked , i vape every few seconds at times .

It's not like you should put down your vape and count to a certain # before you can pick it up again , tell him to go bowling or something .

He should be thrilled your not smoking .

I smoked a cig about once per hour. When I switched and I switched to quit smoking, not to play and make clouds, I vaped when my body told me to.

I switched over night, because the first order of business for me was to determine that ecigs could replace smoking. I started at 24mg which had me "urging" about once per hour with 1-2 draws. Now, if I was vaping 6mg, I probably would have stressed, taped the mod to my mouth, or gone back to smoking. When I did switch to 18mg, I vaped about 2-3 draws every hour.

I got the confidence that vaping could replace smoking and so I I just kept doing it. I did some chain vaping, watching TV, and got a bit over-nic'd. I laid down and took it as a learning experience. No chain-vaping unless I am using a lower nic. Anyway, I got back to just urges. At the time, my taste buds were really damaged by smoking so I wasn't tasting much anyway.

Next week is two years and I am at 3mg. If I want to sit in front of the TV and chain-vape, I take a draw or two of 3mg and then I switch to 0mg. I have a lot of tanks and it makes things easier.

For me, it is about reducing my smoking and, then, reducing my nicotine. I really don't chain-vape much and I rarely play with clouds. It is just my nature. This is my health and being a Civil War Vet, it is time for me to pay attention to my health. My doctor has seen positive change and so has my dentist. I feel it and I experience it. It was a dream for me to quit smoking and vaping got me to where I am.

I am very grateful. Good luck to all and if I can help, I will.

What worked well for me was giving him that look, and saying at about 100dB "DO YOU WANT ME TO GO BACK TO SMOKING?!?!?!" He backed off REAL fast!!

It's only too much if it makes you sick. Tell him we said that.

My Mother still hates to see me vape and i am a middle aged man , she still asks me if she can do my laundry and to come over for dinner constantly , (it's nuts) but a mother is always a mother i suppose , they can't help it lol.

When i am around her i never vape in front of her just out of respect , i turn my head and vape so she doesn't catch it . She knows it's better than smoking but still says , can't you stop , it never ends but thats a mother for you .

I stopped caring what my mother thought about anything I did when I was about 14. I vape in her house, though I didn't smoke after she quit. She has COPD, but doesn't have a single problem with the vapor, she says it smells good -- "fruity" as she puts it. In fact I've vaped in her hospital room when I've gone to visit, making sure the door is closed so those tyrannical nurses don't catch me. :D She says it improves the odor quite a bit. :D

At first my husband did give me one of those comments, "you do that a lot... like, all the time!" That was when I bellowed about going back to smoking and he assured me that he preferred the vape. :D I think it occurred to him what a miracle it was, that something finally helped me to quit smoking, so why mess with it? Anything I want to buy, if we've got the money, he's fine with.

I always put my PV down periodically to change my batteries, or refill my juice, or change my tank/Atty....or switch to another mod:)saftey first

Yep, always good to have spares. We don't want to fail and feel the need to buy a cigarette.

His research is faulty.

We absorb nicotine differently via vaping than with smoking. Smoking is pretty much an instantaneous delivery.

Whereas vaping is more of a slow build up.

A lot of us vape more frequently to maintain the nic levels were comfortable at....so it may seem like were doing it more than we smoked but in actuality its less.

How else can you explain a person who smoked 2 packs a day (Marlboro Reds at that) going from that to vaping and dropping down to just 3mgs over the course of 3 years?

And not because Im a cloud chaser either.

I vape a lot in the car and at night when my daughter goes to bed. Sporadically thru out the day, I may take a few drags here and there.

I started out at 12mg and was hitting the vape pretty hard initially and that was too much. Made me feel woozy and on the edge. I am trying to just vape as I need it and am already down to 6mg and about 3 when I subohm.

I am starting to stop vaping frequently just because I can (in the house, at the office, etc.). The coolness factor is fading and I am vaping less every day.

I agree with this. You need to listen to what your body is telling you. You quit cigarettes, but your body/mind still "need" the nicotine. The only too much is if you get "nic sick".

The number of puffs per hour/day/whatever are irrelevant, it's the amount of e-liquid you're going through.

We've got folks that go through a few mililiters a day, some that blast through 30 ml a day. It's right for them, it's what's keeping them off cigarettes. Honestly, that's all that matters.

I was lucky, used the old 510 style cig-alikes and stopped smoking the same day. Started at like 12 mg and tapered off to 0 in the first 6 months. By the 2nd year I stopped vaping for a few years simply because I did not need to anymore. I picked it up again as something I enjoy for the flavor at 0 mg but am not tied to it at all.

My Wife on the other hand took about 3 months of vaping while tapering off cigarettes. After that since I was mixing our juice I tapered us both off the nicotine, and after a couple months of us using 0 mg she saw me mixing one day and asked what about the nicotine and I told her she had not been using any for a couple of months. She was very surprised let me tell you :) She has been carrying an EGO style since then.

The point here is not everyone is the same, so unless you tape it to your face I would not say you are not over using it. If you feel you are getting too much nicotine, lower the mg, if you feel you are not getting enough, raise it. In any event vaping is better for you than smoking cigarettes and that is the issue people should be focused on.

Having said that if you are using it a lot, and could use a good smelling (to the people close to you) juice, hopefully it will not bother them. I recall many militant non smokers (oddly enough the WORST seemed to be ex smokers) that would complain about people smoking cigarettes. I think it was a toss up of it making them want to smoke, and simply smelling so horrible to them after they had stopped. I know after the first week of vaping I was seriously shocked at the smell lingering on people well after they had smoked myself. The nose and taste buds do heal, amazingly after all the abuse of cigarettes!

Anyhow I am glad to hear it is working for you, keep at it and try different things until you get it dialed in just right for you.

Good Luck and Happy Vaping!

Firstly congratulations on your achievement.

I'd just say do whatever it takes to keep you happy and satisfied - everyone is indeed different and over time you'll settle down to the pattern that suits you.

I was a long term pipe smoker of strong tobaccos and tended to light up and sit down with my pipe for 10 - 20 minutes at a stretch and then go and do something for a few hours before repeating the performance. I tend to do the same now only with 12 strength liquid.

As has been said the killer question is - "Do you really want me to go back to smoking?"
