The SVD I recieved from FT looks exactly like the OP's "legit" version.
Im not sure if they are fake maybe just hidden inprovements over time like different version under the same name or fasttech would be taken down i guess
I have been getting many emails from my readers about the recent press release from Innokin about Fasttech and other vendors. I would like to explain what is really going on. The only reason I'm addressing this - is due to the level of emails I was getting.
WHAT INNOKIN SAID: http://www.innokin.com/
The dirty little "not so secret"
If you didn't already know this, Innokin, Joyetech, and other companies engage in fixed prices. To be called an "Authorized" reseller you must agree to sell their product at a particular price. If you do not agree to their fixed prices - you will be banned and cut off from buying products from them. Ask any "authorized" vendor and they will tell you this.
They set a limit on how low you can sell a product.
This gives the manufactures leverage. If you break this agreement, you will be branded an unauthorized reseller. This allows them to claim you sell fake products.
Vendors are getting smarter. They are buying large amounts of product using fake front companies and selling them on their websites for REASONABLE prices. Since there is no way to track the purchases - it frustrates the fixed pricing manufacturers.
The manufacturers can only cry and scream FAKE!
Oddly, this price fixing does not put more money in the pockets of the manufacturer; only in the pockets of the vendor. Vendors pay very low prices for products and must resell them at a very high price. Vendors that discount these products are immediately targeted and turned in by other vendors. Competition is silenced.
This is exactly what happened with Fast Tech and many American vendors. Make no mistake, the products sold as "Innokin" products are genuine; they just aren’t bought by Fast Tech FROM Innokin. Another company had to buy them from Innokin and sold them to Fast Tech because they didn't want to deal with these ridiculous fixed price practices.
This is how the free market works.
We have no skin in this game but we WILL promote and point out where to find the best deals. If this pisses vendors and manufacturers off, so be it. I never started this blog to make friends. I started this blog to save people money.
I invite all my readers to send an email to Innokin and Joytech. Tell them what you think.
I also invite people to ask "Authorized" resellers if they are required to sell items at a certain minimum price.
This will be talked about extensively on the next Mod Envy Show - 10pm 6/8]
Same here my FT "copy" looks like the op's legit one. These are manufacturing variations due to several factors. If you want to get the same exact unit as someone else than buy a more expensive APV with better quality control. I have 4 Provari's and they are all version 2 and every unit is identical except the color. Just sayin!! I will add I am perfectly happy with my FT SVD!I have an SVD from Fasttech and it is identical to the SVD the OP is claimed legit. Curious myself, an image search shows various different reputable vendors selling what looks like 2 or 3 slightly different versions. I'm completely happy with mine.
The OP is wrong.
(Though the intention and work gone into that post is well appreciated)
Fasttech doesn't sell fakes. It's just a matter of 'branded' vs. 'non-branded' items and the conundrum of design / material changes between various runs of a product.
If they list an item with a brand name viz. Kanger, Joyetech, Innokin, Vision etc. it can be safely assumed coming genuinely from those factories. As safe as ordering such products from any other reputable & 'known' vendor.
While they also stock unbranded products... however, they are candid at not listing them under any brand name. Such stuff are fetched from a myriad of Chinese plants, some of which might be producing clones... but Fasttech ensures that they do not carry the original manufacturer's name, logo, insignia or tagline.
Warranties, Refunds & Returns
Besides, every item from Fasttech carries 6-months warranty. And 3-months of no-frills return - with return shipping borne by Fasttech (Return shipping reimbursement is USD 40 or 50% of the item's price, whichever is lower). While for smaller items (usually under $10) they don't even ask u to send it back; and just ship u another FOR FREE (I've received one such). Beat that for a/ny online vendor!
I don't work for Fasttech, but have been a prolific shopper there (39 packages to this day) between vape related and non-vape stuff... and I've only good words for this amazing B2B site. So does Joe Petner, who's a reputed figure in our vape circle - AND wouldn't pimp Fasttech if he wasn't convinced himself.

I'm not doubting what you say is true nor do I believe that the FT version is a "fake" but FT does clearly advertise and lists the item as an Innokin iTaste SVD. If you look at the pictures attached to the item, the logo is on the box as well.

Yup, sorry people I guess I jumped to conclusions too fast! It just didn't occur to me there could be so many differences between two units...
But whatever, I love my SVD![]()
