I missed this thread and the whole conehead brouhaha! My latest video is about easily taking apart a Stardust without hammer, clamps, etc. (though you do need a some sort of large pliers). It really makes it easy, though I haven't tried it on a conehead version (because I don't have any coneheads). Can anyone confirm this method works okay with that version?
Being able to screw off the skirt would be a HUGE improvement on how to clean the Stardust. I don't mean some fancy schmancy way to screw on the
tank. Just put some threads on the skirt to allow us to take it off and then pop off the tank.
Alternatively, just developing some inexpensive tool we could buy that lets us pop the
tanks on and off (new market!) would be nice as well. Honestly, my use of Stardusts really diminished, the harder it was to get the
tanks off, because I maintain that taking it apart for washing, airing out and dry burning is the BEST method to clean these. The easier and more convenient it is, the more popular they will become!
Coneheads brings back fond memories of the old SNL!
