I am on Indian land
I'm still recovering, but as tonight/tomorrow is the one of the many New Year celebrations, I thought I'd tell you about a special wacky family custom we have every time there's a New Year to celebrate, (which seems to happen about every other month).

It's called - well, the most accurate translation would be "the bag of currencies of the bloods," which doesn't sound very appealing, but it's really a sweet idea.

You start with a pretty little bag and in it you put in a coin, a bill, or something to represent past and/or present currencies of all the nations and continents and cultures of everybody in the family.

For us, that's pretty much all of them, (LOL I'm pretty much all of them all by myself!) so in addition to all the bills and coins of various countries, past or present, we can scratch up, we also cover any possible omissions by putting in past currencies as well - some corn and tobacco and beans for the (indigenous) Americas, black-eyed peas, peanuts and cowrie shells for Africa (several islands also share the cowrie shells), frankincense and agarwood (oud) for the Middle East, tea, rice, and sandalwood for Asia (subcontinent included)... you get the idea.

Every family's bag will be unique. We use an old embroidered silk shoe bag, but you might be able to get away with something smaller.

Then you tie the bag up tight, and at the hour whichever New Year it is begins, (or whenever you want to, since you get to make the rules) whoever's turn it is throws the bag into the air, everybody grabs for it, and whoever gets it will have extra special good luck - and a couple of months from now, the next time somebody else says the new year starts, it'll be their turn to throw the bag!

Of course whenever anybody gets married, in the unlikely event that the newlywed happens to possess any "blood" that is not already represented in the bag - or if they are technically represented but have something they want to add anyway, we untie the bag, put the new addition in, and tie it back up!

It might be late for some time zones to make your bag, but because it's just a made up custom, nobody says you can't make it tomorrow and throw it at lunch, or teatime, or whenever you want to!

Happy 2012!

I printed it out for some friends wishing to begin vaping as they're not on the internet and they LOVED it and asked me to Thank You From The Bottom Of Their Hearts. LOL after reading it they're thinking about buying a pc and getting on the internet.
Sincerely, Vapoor.

I just finished reading this thread (took me 3 days). Time to read the blog posts now but had to stop reading long enough to say "Thank you" lolady and all of you posters to this thread. I have loved every minute I have spent following this journey.
I was broken hearted when I though you had left us and was lifted up again when you started writing again. You are in my thoughts and have my prayers.

I don't know exactly when I found this thread or how long it's taken me to read. But I am oh so glad I did. Lolady, you are a true gem. My grandmother (who was much, much older than you) was 100% Indian (refused to call herself anything but) and had your delicious & wicked sense of humor. I remember her babysitting my sisters & I and flicking her ashes in my mother's plants. Like someone else said, it was odd not to see an adult smoking. Of course at some point, cigs probably were just tobacco without all the chemical additives.

I hope your pain continues to improve, and I'm selfishly glad you are here.

Hi.... Sorry I didn't take the time to go through all your replies, but I like to KISS stuff... Keep It Simple Stupid. It seems to me you want a nicotine hit - you want it fast - and you do not want to screw around with a bunch of toys to get it. Soooo - get a big battery device - get a big liquid device - find a liquid that taste close (or good to close) to your reds - and do the deal Lucile. It is amazing to me how much time people who have started vaping spend on their 'stuff' - IMO it has become an obsession to most instead of the enjoyable 'no smoke' tobacco vaping experience. Pufthhhhhhhh ! For what it's worth: I have an E-Power 18650 - J Tank - mix my own Red juice - Liked it better than cigarettes so I didn't buy anymore after 48 years of smoking. Very simple - Very easy. Peace be with you.
