Gabriella Giffords, a hometown congresswoman was shot in the head today along with 3 of her aides and 8 other people.
Just so you all know Gabbie is a graduate of Amphi High and well liked in this community. also a mother of two young children.
Party affiliation or not shooting someone in the head over politics hoping they are killed is deplorable.
Hopefully she will survive but it doesn't look good for gabbie at this time

Just heard that she died. This is horrible. Many others were shot and and injured or killed as well, including a child.

I'm sorry to hear that, David. I thought about FSUSA when I heard the announcement on the radio saying that the shooting was in Tuscon. My prayers are going up for her and others who were attacked in the shooting.

Having spent more than my fair share of time in Tubac I know how porous that border is and it would not surprise me at all if it were related to the drug cartels.

Watching the news now, sounds like she is still alive but very critical. If it was a Mexican gang, I kinda view that as an act of war (not with Mexico but with the cartels).

That is terrible news... it just goes to show the ignorance of these gangs/mexican mafia, if she was leading the charge against illegal aliens streaming across our borders, which desperately needs to be addressed, than they have done themselves more harm by facilitating her "execution" than she probably could done in years. Very sad Indeed, I hope she pulls threw ok, still getting conflicting reports if she is even alive. Hearing 13 people shot with 6 dead. So close to home also that store is about 5 mins drive from my house. I did just hear the shooter has been arrested.

confirmed that one of the dead is a child. Gabriella is in and out but shot in the head at point blank range no good can come from that. just goes to show the power of a mother trying to hang on for her babies

Thanks everyone for your well-wishes for Tucson. What an incredibly sad day. I can't understand what makes people do things like that. I just don't.

The shooting was in a decent neighborhood as well. I'm really wondering if it was political. I just don't understand.

There seems to be a lot of conflicting reports of what's going on right now. A lot of chaos. The intersection has been closed off. So many people shot.

Keep the good energy comin', and I'll be sending mine too. Those people need it.

From the medical center news conference , One Dead , 5 critical , the Congress Woman is in critical condition out of surgery and Doctor says she has a good chance.
