I noticed, that my battery has a nick on it, exposing the metal from the side. Unfortunately, I have been using it in a Swag II mod for a long time.

I will rewrap it, but am curious, could the broken battery have done any permanent damage to the mod? The mod has started to randomly lose power and after taking the battery out and putting it back in, it vapes fine again.

The mod's battery compartment is non-conductive from the sides.

Agreed. The risk of having a nick in the wrap or sleeve isn't insidious, so it wouldn't do gradual damage to a mod. If the risk were realized, you'd notice. It would either vent the battery, which you'd probably notice at the time if you were around and would leave you with an unusable battery, or it would go bang, in which case you'd notice the explosion and consequent fire. Rewrapping the battery is definitely in order.:)

The mod problems you describe could be the battery, but I'd also suggest cleaning your battery contacts.

Then rewrap it.

Personally, I find it useful to keep "one or two" (cough! :w00t: ) spare battery wraps, insulators, etc. on hand. It's better to have and not need, than the other way around.
