the bakero didn't quite fit in the posts of the helios, and i didn't have ekowool when i built the nimbus, but i figured it should be close enough. to get to the point:

Have you tried giving the bakero a twist at the ends to help fit it in the posts? I wonder if that changes the resistance.

at first glance, you don't look filipino, but after seeing those clouds i would definitely believe you if you said you were :D
LOL!!! Thanks vapo jam. Hey man check this out. I enlarged the eyelets to 1 mm. Now I can use any ribbon size :)

hmmm, don't think i could do that - i'd be too scared that i'd snap the posts if i tried to drill the holes out... think i might try twisting the ends of the bakero, though.

just noticed - did yours come with the screws or did you switch them out? mine came with allen screws and an allen wrench. i didn't even think to replace them, but i'm sure i have some m1 screws lying around somewhere.

i think you're right about the quad coils as well. it seems difficult to get enough airflow for them with the stock holes, but so far i'm perfectly happy with the warmth, taste, and vapor production of duals. figure my batts will probably last a lot longer with duals anyways.

@Tintreach: i got mine from okcvapes, but they sold out pretty quickly... i believe vape doctor had some in stock as of a couple days ago, though. if you can find one, definitely don't hesitate to pull the trigger - i was skeptical at first, but it's definitely worth every penny.

Mine came with phillips screws. It also has a big USA stamp on the bottom with the serial number. I probably have the second batch that was shipped here.

Yeah man the quads are a bit over the top. It drains my 30 amp batts in a couple of hours of chain vaping :D

Where did you find some Bakero wire ? I'm dying to try some man.

found the bakero at a local vape shop, there's a ton of them here in socal that specialize in high-end filipino gear. picked it up when i bought my nimbus, but they also had some tridents, sentinel v3's, mortars, titans, etc. :) wish i had enough money to buy everything...

fwiw, i'm pretty sure that bakero is nothing more than .8mm kanthal ribbon. i read that a filipino modder basically compared the performance of every different size and type of wire possible, found the one that worked the best, and made up a marketing name for it to avoid competition. i measured the bakero with some calipers i have at work, and sure enough, it's exactly .8mm. i'm almost out, but i'm going to order some .8mm kanthal from temco to compare the two.

my helios is pretty much the same, i've got the usa stamp and serial number as well. just got allen screws instead of phillips, so must just be a previous model.

I wonder how thick the Bakero is ? I know the Temco stuff is .1 mm. I've read that the Filipino stuff is thinner. I do like like the Temco Ribbon a lot. The .9 mm is really good too.

looks like you're right. found this on another forum - it's apparently a translated interview with the seller:

One of the most talked about wires in the Philippines the BAKERO WIRE.. Short Review

so it's roughly half the thickness of the temco ribbon. guess i'll hold off on the order then until i can find a place that sells .8x.05mm ribbon coil... i really like it, but the mark-up at the b&m is kind of ridiculous (i paid a little more than $1/foot for it).

Yeah man, I've searched and searched for the thinner stuff. The only ribbon I've used is all .1 mm. I almost ordered some Bagnet wire, but the shipping was 60 bucks from the Philippines :D

I finally received some Gat Thunder wire from the Philippines. I wasn't too thrilled from the metallic taste. I have some .7 mm x .08 mm coming from the UK soon. I'm looking forward in trying that. So far the .9 x .1 mm Temco has been my favorite.

Seems like I remember some posts where they tried rolling some round wire flat. I don't think it worked too well, but rolling your flat wire a little thinner might be worth a try.
