My first car was a 76 vega green from the back of doors forward and primer grey back. It had 4 seats but was made for two people. It got me through high school, but it sat so low to the ground I ripped the exaust off every other day. I think I spent more time putting the exaust back on then I did in class.
 another '76 Vega !

My first car was a gray 88 oldsmobile cutlass - my dad got it for me, he always told me as I grew up that he was gonna get me a car for my 16th bday - so he didn't get my bday presents for several years because I was getting a BIG bday present for my 16th - on my 16th bday he gave me a card saying happy birthday, I'm getting you a car.............

Then you open it, and it said D - as in CARD LOL.

However, I didn't end up getting the car until I was about 19 - in 1999 - and it had SO many mechanical problems that my dad felt very guilty and helped me with repair costs. lol.

For a long time I had a radiator leak and couldn't afford a new radiator - had to constantly refill my antifreeze...

Later on I had a gas tank leak and gas prices had spiked at the time, and I had to constantly fill my tank....until I got it fixed...

various other problems later, when a repair came up that was way more expensive than the car was worth just for the one repair, we got rid of it. Although definately we had already spent over the car's worth already on several separate repairs lol

My first very own car was a 1973 Pinto stationwagon. It was bright yellow and so cute. Up until that time, station wagons were big boats...this was little and perfect for me to tool around in. It was $2300 brand new. Drove it for 6 years with no problems except it rusted out so badly you could see the road through the holes in the floorboard. My smoking friends loved it...they could flip their ashes and butts right through those holes.

The one thing I will never forget and made this car so special is that my sons first sentence (sort of) was spoke when he first saw the car"Cool Car Daddy" Oh man that was awesome :D

My first car was a 1989 Acura Integra RS, black with power moon roof and flip up headlights. An awesome car that I loved and still my favorite car I have ever owned. I packed it up with all my worldly possessions and moved from Washington D.C. to Phoenix AZ. I made it to Phoenix just as the timing belt went on it right about 77k miles if I remember correctly. It could have gone out on me at any time during my drive but it didn't, it held out until less than half block from my destination. I had to push it that last half block but I didn't mind, when i got it into the parking lot I kissed it for getting me there. After a new timing belt it served served me very very well. I do miss that car.

The first car that I actually bought was a 1959 VW .
I had tagged along with DH one day when he was checking out a VW for a guy, dh had a habit of buying & rebuilding VW's.
It was very well worn, being almost 30 yrs old, black & smelly....but was fairly straight.
When the guy said he'd take $180 for it, I could NOT get the $$ out of my pocket fast enough !!
NO WAY somebody else was gettin' it !:D

It took a year or so of sanding & scraping on weekends...but turned out great !
We showed it several times in TX & OK . It won peoples choice awards :D
It was Cute & Fun, had a HOT PINK Corduroy interior :D
It even had a pink PIG on the end of the turn indicator (my DIY),cuz we never could find a replacement knob
I drove it for a few years till pregnancy convinced me that I had to opt for a safer car .
Should have kept it cuz the lady I sold it to total'ed it within a few weeks, so sad .

First car i ever bought was a 1991 grey Ford Escort wagon which was so lovingly name the "grocery go-geter" by my friends i paid 100.00 for the car from my mom i was 18. by the time i bought a new car a few years later the car was missing all hub caps, the ac and heat was broken, none of the gauges worked and had some unidentifiable knocking in the engine, not to mention all the dents, scrapes and rust, but the thing still ran lol

My first car purchased was 1967 GTO it had a 389 triple deuce in it. Thanks to my uncle who was a fabricator and made the linkage for the carbs for me. Or else I would of have to spend around $300 for one. I got pulled over driving on the highway and was sure i wasnt speeding. The cop just wanted to look at my car and talk about it. When we left he tried to drag race me but I still won. He flashed his cherries real quick and gave me a wave. Coolest thing ever especially when your 16 lol.

Well since the contest ends a day after my birthday I'll enter.

First car I ever bought was a 1984 Oldsmobile '88 series. Grey exterior, with a brown top. Only $500, because it had over 100,000 miles on it. I loved that car, could fit a whole refrigerator in the back seat, (among other things :)) Anyway, thanks for the memories, and great contest.
