Yea you might want to take along a 5V and a 3.7 with an LR atty so they can see what there is if something is too harsh or not harsh enough.

just remember not to try to give them TOO much info in a short time. i've found when I do that I have to repeat the same thing over and over. just take your time and go at their pace not yours.

Just for the record, a 2.2ohm carto on an auto batt (3.2v) isn't going to be harsh at all, it's going to provide a "decent" hit with vapor they can see. Many of the full 510 kits sold today come with 2.5ohm atomizers, it's not that much different FWIW. :)

All these options are good ones. And I agree with Z, too much info can be very bad at the start. The easier it is, and the less words you use the better LOL.

I wish you so much luck doing this lady...you're very wonderful for making the effort. I got nothin' but love for ya.

(((Leanne))), If you do intend to bring along a kit for your aunt, please consider how many cigarettes she smokes. If you buy her a 510 or similar 808 kit and she smokes a lot, she's going to be changing out batteries all the time. A Riva/eGo/VGO might suit her better once she gets the hang of it with a replaceable.

BTW..the replaceables I gave you the link for can be recharged many times. There are a couple of reviews by the product that mention it. :)

Another hug and love for good measure!

Thanks y'all.

I doubt I'll have much time at all to go into great depth. Nor do I even expect them to be that intune to the info. Esp my aunt.

I haven't seen any of them in a couple years, and this isn't a social visit, per se. I know she was supposed to quit, but I don't know if she was successful. But I know my family and when they see what I'm doing, eventually I -will be- asked about it. Even if it's at a late night chat session. So I want to be prepared. Last time I went to a family gathering (tho it was under much happier circumstances) I was completely unprepared and missed a huge opportunity to introduce some family to ecigs. I guess that's all I really want.

I want to be able to introduce them to it if they ask. I want to be able to leave them with a little something if they truly ARE interested. And I want to come prepared with a full setup for my aunt -just-in-case- she likes it. Her hubs is net savvy but it may take a little time to get her something, and I can give her something now.
Plus I want to show them what a good ecig is like just in case they've been exposed to some of the junk out there. Knowing these family members--it's highly likely they tried vaping long ago but purchased an inferior product. (ie mall junk or net freebie). I want to show them what is really possible..... And I have a teeny window to do all this, and may not be thinking either, so the better prepared and easy I make it for ME the better too.

((hugs)). Thanks. For ALL the help.

Wow, I really appreciate this thread - I've got 2 heavy smokers (little mom is a former foster of mine) with a baby (best reason to quit!) that are interested in vaping, and this has lots of great info! Since I've got a 5V to use, I'll be passing on my 2 Riva kits, and I've got a wide range of juices (highest I've got is 18mg though - after reading this I may have to try to trade for higher) for them. I was going to go the empty carto route, but am now thinking LR pre-filled looks like the way to go. Thanks so much for all the info!

(((Sensay))) (((zane))) Thanks.. yall are doing great just by all these pointers and tips. I've never converted ANYBODY, even when presented with a couple opportunities, so all of this advice is invaluable to me right now.

Atsirk: glad this thread could help someone else too!

you may not have converted anyone yet but I know FOR A FACT there was one really frustrated newbie who would have never made it when she had all pg juices and had to switch to VG with out your help~ Love u buggy!

Just sharing:

I got my hair cut today and my hair person is always interested in what device I'm vaping and what flavor etc. I had my ProVari with me today and she actually took a hit off it. She was so impressed with the vapor and flavor (mary_d's Strawberry Shortcake) that she said "I think at this point something like this could work for me, but this thing (ProVari) is too dang heavy!" (fyi, i had the PV set at 3.8v using a 2.4ohm boge cart) So I explained "box mod" to her...and I'm going to set her up with one as soon as I can get a charger and a couple of 14500's...and some higer nic liquids. :) I'm very happy to see this young woman begin her journey to a smoke free life. YAY FOR CONVERTING!

Yay for converting indeed! It's great .. someone I converted three days ago has already converted 2 other people at his work. The ripple effect is amazing!

Leannebug: Just something to keep in mind if you are considering a kit for your aunt with emphysema .. depending on how bad her disease is, a big model might not be best. I have this wretched disease and big throat hits are too harsh for me. I guess that's why I love my mini's so much. And having a extra battery and/or a PCC solves the battery issues. Even though I was a relatively heavy smoker, I can't take a deep, long drag anyway, too much lung damage. Just FYI.

Out of all of my original ecigs (510, Ego, KR808 and Riva), I like the cheap pink Riva from Liberty Flights the best. It seems to perform much better than my egos; I think the Riva is an excellent choice to convert people. Also, with a $1.00 adaptor from Good Prophets, I can use my V4L cartos on my Riva. They taste even better and give more vapor on the Riva than a KR808. However, I've never tried 5v vaping yet, so I may be missing out on the big treat. :)

Love ya too Sensy :)

One down, 5357384857483 million to go Miss B!

Cleo. Thank you very much. That is a huge help and not something I would have ever thought of either.

It's a great thing Jean :)

Well, with the help from some FANTASTIC people here; I'm getting set up with several disposables that I can hand out, a variety of 808 cartos that are filled and blanks that I can fill with things they may like to try (as luck would have it, I can stay an extra day) and then an 808 kit I can leave with my aunt.
And for anyone that shows interest: I plan to take a modest pack of juices for sampling, probably a set up in the ego/vgo size and a mod or two.
I think that should give even the most die-hard smoker a good look at what vaping really can offer a person.

Plus they'll have something 'in-hand' that they can try, and I'll get my aunt whatever she needs to start that day.

I don't plan on really introducing the atty. They'll see mine (I drip on a 901) but I think the whole cart/atty/foam thing can be a lot to take in. I also use the mega cartos on an ego batty, but I plan to offer the smaller autos and manuals. (more cig like) and with the range of atties, I see that sticking with easy peasy would be an easier option. Just need to learn how to properly fill the 808s. Or maybe I should do 510s for the blanks...

I dunno. What do y'all think? Am I overdoing it? I don't want to overwhelm anyone. But I do like to be prepared.

YIPEE!!! Home at last
be prepared.... hmmm I think that is someones motto so probably a good idea. FYI for anyone.... by request Danno at Gotvapes extended the disposable sale. I orginally asked hiim to extend it for Lbug and I am glad she found others but I wanted to pass this along I think they are 5.49ish. I enjoy them quite a bit.
Anyway Lbug as I have said good work and if you need anything let me know.
