Converting smokers say vaping hurts?

I have been working on converting a few smokers lately. They don't seem to be taking to it as easily as I did.
They both say that vaping hurts ( burns) their throats! Now they are both using the standard 510 batts, with either attys and carts or the cartos that I suggested they use.
I put juicy clear Dumay with both of them. Just trying to give the smoking experience that most of us wanted at first. I believe jc is a blend of pg/vg. Even tried a straight vg dumarier flavor and it had an odor that was a turn off. Either 24mg or 18mg of nic.
Any ideas why this is 'hurting' them?

wv2win is right about the inhale but for some it's hard to get technique down.

When I start a new person, I always use a 70% VG / 30% PG mix. It's smoother and I found out if they have trouble the first couple of drags, they will turn there head to the whole thing.
If all goes okay and they complain about not enough throat hit, I'll bring out the PG and warn them that it has a bit of a bite.

For me, being a new vaper myself. I have noticed that my first vape of the day is slightly more harsh, however after my initial morning vape (5 min.) I can cape all through the day and evening and night will no discomfort at all.

I have 70/30 mixes and 50/50 mixes both in 18mg and 24mg.

To be honest with you I can't even tell the difference in the 18mg nic. from the 24mg nic. in the same juice.

Hope this helps

I'm using 12 and 16mg, 12mg is 80pg20vg. The TH is bad. I was determine to quit so i hang in there. Ordered a 16mg (Yes i went up) Not even sure what the combi was, red bull + Marlboro juice, TH was crazy.

Got to start them right and slowly guide them.

I also dislike the after taste until i realise only a stronger juice will eliminate the after taste.

Cheers!

This is pretty common for newcomers. It can sometimes have to do with specific flavors (cinnamon flavors seem to irritate certain peoples throats badly), but more likely its just the hit of nicotine feeling like a knife stabbing deep into their lungs. The lungs are not used to receiving such a high concentration of a pure molecule that has potent irritation properties, so it can be a total shock to the lungs.

Ive had some people who could not vape, any strength of nicotine, without coughing, but most do not have this problem. Ive never been able to decipher why some people cough so badly, and others can vape 35mg nicotine from the getgo without an issue.

Nanovapor: It seems to be true. I cough quite a lot when i vape too hard on the 16mg, but when i'm on the 12mg i'm doing better but after 5 long drags, i'll cough. That happens with analog as well.

I guess it is simply the body make up.

As long as we're off analogs i believe it should be a greater good.

Cheers!

i wasnt so sure about the whole vaping thing when i started i had a guy bring me one to my work said i didnt have a choice i never heard of such a thing before he told me he was bringing me a puffer that would get me off cigarettes and i thought he was being nice and he was doing it for free. untill he called me and told me it was going to be 120 bucks for the kit and juice i smoked my last cig i had when he got to my work he showed me how to use it and i did cough on my first puff i wasnt convinced paid for it anyway. i told my wife about it and we are on a tight budget she was mad for wasting money on sh** like that i kept it up just to keep the peace between us and ive been smoke free for 6 months now . shes happy with the saving:p:2cool:

Nicotine level will definitely play a roll in TH. If you mix no-nic pg/vg (any ratio) or vape pure vg/distilled or pure pg, you won't have any TH, flavour doesn't even contribute much (minus a couple obvious i.e menthol).

If it's too harsh for them, which in all fairness, does go away after a short while; the nic level is too high initially. That will probably change shortly after, once they're used to it.

I started with 24mg, and it was not a great experience for me lol. Now I vape 18 or 16 and it suits me just fine.

Note: You can always dilute a bottle of juice with a bit more pg or vg. But adding vg has more of a tendency to weaken the flavour.

When I started vaping I tried 24mg and was like OMG this is harsh, then went to 18mg and was great. I had no desire for a cigarette after I vaped. I did have the scratchy throat for a little bit that made me caugh alot, but once you adapt vaping is 1000 times more enjoyable then smoking a cigarette. If your determined to quit smoking and you experiment with nic levels, pg/vg ratios there should be no problems. I found some people looked for excuses to not vape when they tried it, they are so hooked on smoking they wont even give vaping a chance.

When we all tried smoking for the first time we didnt say this was great, I bet we all got dizzy, nauseated, and felt like crap, but we kept on doing it, got used to it, got hooked on it, and it was enjoyable.

Like one persons signature says, to learn more about Lung Cancer and it effects keep smoking.
