Well a few days ago one of my bosses told me to stop smoking in the building I work in and it really ...... me off. Been vaping for almost 2 months now. I've converted my sister to vaping and have few freinds that want to too. So I have no problem with any smoker trying out my pv or juice I have with me. Lol. Back to the boss problem. He told me no matter what I told him that it was still a tobacco product. That I could get him fire if I didn't stop. I told him that just because it has nicotine in it doesn't make it a tobacco product. That he wouldn't have anything to say if I was chewing nicotine gum or had a nicotine patch on. So can another give me some hard evidence to back my story. I have some cards from vaping companies that have this not smoking things on them just wanted more proof. Please help!!!

I got harassed at AMC Theaters last night. Some snot nose-teenager usher said, "Sorry, sir. No smoking" and I said, "Do you see me burning anything? And do you smell anything?", he responded "No, but I do smell apples though" (I was vaping Apple Pie 9mg from vapure.com) I looked back up at this usher and continued vaping. clouds. of. vape.

Not to give you a hard time, but it's usually a safe bet not to argue with ignorant folks. My typical response is first to illustrate what I'm using and why, and if reason and patience don't work then I aquiesse and put my PV away. It sounds to me like your boss isn't listening, and no amount of information will change that. Sorry...
Maybe blow vape at him and say do you smell smoke????? Do you smell burning tobacco leaves???? LOL I know non vapers just don't get it. My hubby keeps saying to me are you going to smoke now? I say I quit smoking remember, I am vaping! ha ha He finally got it right today and asked if I was vaping

In addition, sounds like your "boss" got that power trip still coursing in his veins. But you gotta also take into consideration, maybe a close loved one died from smoking analogs and your boss is just has no tolerance with anything that "looks" like smoke.

I only had two negative encounters, once at a trader joes and once at best buy. both times i told them its basically a personal fog machine. cant argue with that. the guy at trader joes after telling him its not smoke said "i know" i just kept vaping. he snickered and sneered in my direction but they cant call the police on me for it. Im sure no matter what though your boss isnt going to listen, my boss is the same way...hey look on the bright side, you can save more money on juice and cartos by regulating your vaping to bathroom breaks.

I've only been confronted at the local home depot. That cat wound up saying "that's the coolest thing I've ever seen!" I was courteous to the uninitiated, and bought my drill.
I agree that no amount of anything is probably gonna convince your boss. It really does peeve me though that people seem to use "tobacco" and "nicotine" interchangeably. We all know the difference; like you said, he wouldnt be getting on you about gum or patches. We have a long road ahead of us all trying to convince the world that there is no tobacco in e cigs!
Don't vape where you can't smoke and you won't have problems. Is it really that hard to spend a few minutes in a store or a few hours at work without vaping? I stealth vape at work and don't have any issues.
The majority of people think you're still smoking and it should be treated as such IMO. You're not helping buy having a ".... you, I'm going to do it anyways" attitude when confronted about it. I know I can vape wherever I want, but I don't if it's not appropriate in that situation.

hiding from the public while using a PV is going to get us no where fast !!! this whole issue is still up in the air right now,
letting people see it and get educated about it is by far our best option ,,

I still use mine in public, but I don't use it at places that I normally wouldn't have smoked at. It's better to educate people in places where smoking is "accepted" than to look like you're smoking where you shouldn't be. If someone says you can't do it at a certain place but you do anyways, that's not helping at all.
It seems to me that my opinion is a bit different since I've been vaping for over a year and a half now and this isn't the latest and greatest thing in my life. If Joe Blow wants to keep smoking or people want to think I'm smoking that's fine with me. I decided to take up vaping to help myself.

I'm don't vape in places where I've been asked not to do it. So far, there isn't any place I've been told not to vape, but part of that is probably that I'm not in-your-face about it.
I don't agree with the "Just treat it like smoking" thing. I'm not smoking, and I'm not going to pretend I'm smoking. I'm not going to stand in the cold and the rain and the sun in a smoking area just so I can vape.
If everyone who vapes just treats it like smoking, and only smokes where smoking is allowed, then we've just given up and let the control freaks win.
There is no tobacco, no burning, no smoke, no ash, no tar, no known carcinogens, no known health issues, and no cigarette smell. I can't see any reason to pretend I'm smoking.

The fact is, private businesses do not have to let you vape. Just like they don't have to let you in with no shoes, or no shirt, or anything else they don't want.
While I was waiting for Wifey to renew her expired DL, some lady manager for Colo Dept of Rev came over to me and said, "There's no smoking in the building". I responded, "I'm not smoking". She said, "I see smoke". I said, "No you don't, it's not smoke". If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it might be a duck, but it ain't smoke. JMHO

Yeah, that's pretty lame. "It's still a tobacco product!" So if you are wearing clothes made of hemp, is that a problem too? If it's not harming anyone or affecting people around you in any way, other than the frowning types who are constantly mad anyway, who cares?
If I plan on vaping in a restaurant, I sit down, grab a napkin, pull my PV, take it apart and clean it while ordering. If nothing is said, I vape small hits and exhale down or through my nose while waiting for my food.
I act like I'm doing nothing wrong. Everyone ignores me.
