I have been wanting to make a completely mechanical mod since I found out that my telescope was not. Could you please help me with where you got your materials and any help with the plans? I could really use your help! Great looking mods.

Would like to help you with diagrams but there is no such things.
In fact, I grab what erver falls in my hands and put it together.
Most parts are plumber parts coming for hardware store but recycle things is the key!

Without any clearcoat on it it tranish in 2 or 3 days and it smell... like copper!

I have put clearcoat on those one. Hoping it will last...

No I did not use clear coat before on my mod. Have you on your mod?
Hoping it will last, but i'm not sure that I have used the best product (Tremclad).
Will see and report...;-)

No I haven't, but I haven't done nearly as much polishing either. I am curious to hear how it holds up, Rustoleum makes fairly good products.

There is a plethora of things that you can buy to keep the copper from tarnishing. Of course there are. We are humans, after all. Thousands of years of alchemy in our history But these are BEAUTIFUL mods original poster. But damn it, your really making me jealous. I want one. You should think about putting an ad in the classified's section for a custom made copper mod. I might bite someday. I bet you could sell these for a pretty penny. After all, that is what they are made from. I love how you added the little animals. How did you do that? With a sautering iron and some led wire? I want to eventually get into making my own mods someday but thats a far off day.

These are better than pennies, those are just copper plated zinc. Curiously, the diameter is good for battery spacers in 18xxx mods. Not to suggest, they take solder fairly well too.
