That part above the beak on the white one turned very blue.. The other one didn't. Crud. Now what? Don't I have to make the conditions right for them to breed or is she gonna lay eggs either way?

Me too...I'm an old quail hunter from way back. Never ate farm raised quail, though.

She may lay eggs, all you have to do is pick them out of the cage and toss them. Or get her a next so she can hatch them. You're call.

I'm thinking I'm gonna have to toss them....I don't know waht I'd do with more parakeets. Is it true that once you touch the eggs they won't have anything to do with them? I think I heard that one time.

I don't think without some encouragement (and a nesting box) you have much to worry about. I might be wrong though...it's happened before.

Well I don't plan to buy a nest and I certainly don't know how to encourage a parakeet to do whatever parakeets do to make more parakeets.

Encouragement? All they need is a nest box. They know what to do. Just toss the eggs, she'll lay them in the bottom of the cage.

Hey all, how has everyone been? For those of you who hit the tundra low temps are you staying warm and cozy??? Hope so.

So I read Jame's had a beard? Bret started growing one and said he wouldn't shave it until he achieve his weight goal. I told him by the time I got home last weekend it would be gone because his mom would irritate him enough to shave it. I was right Its gone.

A few days ago, we realized our coffee wasn't hot after brewing, it was warm. So when hubby when to wally world to do the grrrrr shop, he bought a new coffee pot. Get this - A Keurig!!! My mouth about hit the floor.

Hope all is well, need to go temp the roast.
